Girl to girl, many of us have heard words like, “Ang mga lalaki lang ang moalsa ana kay bug-at man na,” or have been offered a seat just because we are wearing heels. These actions often come from kindness and respect, and they show how people care. We appreciate these gestures, because they remind us that we are loved and valued.

However, they also remind us of the stories society has long carried, which are stories that associate femininity with fragility, and softness with limitation. Over time, these assumptions have shaped expectations, quietly influencing how women are seen, what they are encouraged to do, and sometimes, what they are discouraged from becoming, even when they are capable.

What people sometimes fail to see is that being a woman has never meant being incapable. The heels we wear do not make us weak, they show the paths we continue to walk with courage. The lipstick we carry is not for others, but a form of self-expression and confidence. It represents the voice that fought for our rights many years ago and continues to do so even today. Our softness does not remove our strength. Instead, our softness represents the strength to remain kind, patient, and determined in a challenging world.

This International Women’s Month, we celebrate women for who they are and what they can do. Empowerment means giving women the space to grow, lead, and choose their own path, not because they have something to prove, but because they have always been capable.

Sa tanang kababayen-an, kini ang atong bulan. Padayon kita sa pagbarug, dili tungod kay kinahanglan nato pamatud-an ang atong kusog, kundi tungod kay kahibalo ta sa atong kaugalingong abilidad. Malipayong bulan para kanato! 🫂

Babae ka, hindi babae lang. Malakas at patuloy na nagbibigay liwanag sa mundo.

We extend our deepest gratitude to our former Dean for the years of dedicated service, guidance, and leadership you have given to our college. Your presence has shaped not only policies and programs, but also the lives of the students and faculty who had the privilege to work with you.

The long wait is finally over. 🥹

On February 21, 2026, Cebu Normal University Balamban - Education Council has finally celebrated its first-ever party, and it was filled with uncontrollable laughter, loud energy, heartfelt messages, and the most genuine candid moments.

From planning everything in group chats to finally seeing it all happen face-to-face, from playing every game to enjoying every bite of food, it was a different kind of fulfillment. The kind that makes you pause and say, “We really did that.”

Moments like this remind us that even as student leaders, we also deserve to breathe, to smile, and to set aside our responsibilities for a while. Celebrating the small wins we achieved throughout the year gives us the strength and inspiration to keep going, keep serving, and keep moving forward.

This celebration would not have been possible without the support and cooperation of everyone, from our beloved Governor, Hon. Niña Mae Boris, to every committee member who worked behind the scenes. Thank you for making this day possible.

So here’s to tapping ourselves on the shoulder and saying, “Good job.” Despite the challenges and the unexpected moments, we made our plans happen.

For ten years, Ms. Tacuyan has served the Balamban Campus with hard work, honesty, and care. Her quiet but strong support has helped the campus grow and reach many achievements. She shows true humility and a clear commitment to keeping the standards of our school high.

With her leadership, we believe the education program will continue to grow and succeed.

We welcome this new chapter with thanks and hope, trusting that her servant leadership will inspire all of us to do our best.
