The Architect’s First Draft: Why We Still Reach for Stories

For education students, World Book Day goes beyond books—it’s the realization that we are shaped by the stories we read. From lecture halls to late-night scrolling, we turn to narratives not just to learn, but to find rapture and pieces of ourselves.

Reading is a quiet act of becoming. Each story helps us understand, reflect, and grow. This April 23, we celebrate not just authors, but the truth that every page we read shapes who we are.

Finals are officially over—and in a very familiar plot twist, students were seen “reviewing” right after submitting their papers, suddenly recognizing answers that looked very familiar… just a little too late. 😭

The post-exam scene is filled with relief, light regrets, and the classic “ah mao diay to” moments while flipping through notes. No more changes, no more second chances—just acceptance, a few laughs, and the promise (again) to review earlier next time. For now, pahulay sa ta. 📚✨

LOOK: 4th Year Education Students Take Mock Board Examination

Fourth-year education students are participating in a comprehensive mock board examination designed to simulate the actual licensure test environment. The activity brings aspiring educators into a formal testing setup, complete with time limits, structured questionnaires, and strict guidelines, closely mirroring the conditions of the real board exam.

The initiative aims to help students evaluate their current level of preparedness, enhance their test-taking strategies, and build confidence under pressure. By experiencing the demands of the examination firsthand, students are identifying their strengths and recognizing areas that require further review and improvement. Faculty members and coordinators are also using the results to provide targeted feedback and academic support.

More than just an assessment, the mock board examination serves as a vital preparatory step in shaping competent and resilient future teachers. As they move closer to their licensure journey, this experience reinforces their commitment to excellence and their readiness to take on the responsibilities of the teaching profession.
