🚨 UNIFIED DONATION DRIVE! 🚨

CNU Balamban is calling on all students, faculty, and community members to join hands in our Unified Donation Drive to support families affected by the recent earthquakes in northern Cebu. This initiative aims to bring relief and hope to those who need it most.

We are accepting in-kind donations such as food, clothes, and hygiene kits, as well as monetary donations. Rest assured, all monetary donations will be properly accounted for. Every little effort counts, and together, we can make a real difference.

A team from 𝐂𝐞𝐛𝐮 𝐍𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐥 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 – 𝐁𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐦𝐛𝐚𝐧 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐬 recently conducted a courtesy visit to 𝑴𝒕. 𝑴𝒂𝒏𝒖𝒏𝒈𝒈𝒂𝒍, 𝑩𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒂𝒚 𝑺𝒖𝒏𝒐𝒈, where they were warmly welcomed by Barangay 𝐂𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐁𝐞𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐨 𝐏𝐞𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐨 and 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐥𝐨𝐫 𝐀𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐥 𝐌𝐚𝐠𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐚𝐧𝐠. This visit marked a significant step in the university’s community extension initiative on 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐚𝐦𝐨𝐧 (𝑪𝒊𝒏𝒏𝒂𝒎𝒐𝒎𝒖𝒎 𝒎𝒆𝒓𝒄𝒂𝒅𝒐𝒊), led by 𝑫𝒓. 𝑱𝒂𝒚 𝑷𝒊𝒄𝒂𝒓𝒅𝒂𝒍, which aims to empower local farmers through sustainable and innovative cinnamon harvesting practices.

This initiative is in line with growing national support from 𝐍𝐄𝐃𝐀 and 𝐃𝐎𝐒𝐓 for the development of cinnamon as a high-value crop, promoting sustainable agriculture and economic growth at the grassroots level.

Joining the initiative were 𝐃ir. 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐣𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐞 𝐑𝐮𝐛𝐢 𝐒𝐭𝐚. 𝐓𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐚, 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐄𝐱𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬; 𝐃𝐫. 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐞 𝐏𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐚𝐥, 𝐎𝐈𝐂 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐬 𝐃𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐍𝐔 𝐁𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐦𝐛𝐚𝐧; 𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐲 𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐌𝐬. 𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐞 𝐓𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚 𝐃𝐚𝐝𝐨, 𝐌𝐬. 𝐒𝐡𝐞𝐯𝐚 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐞 𝐅𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐌𝐬. 𝐒𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐊𝐞𝐢 𝐐𝐮𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐬; along with three committed student-volunteers.

During the visit, Dr. Jay Picardal expressed a strong interest in exploring how CNU’s academic programs can be tailored to support the evolving needs of the barangay. His dialogue with Brgy. Capt. Pepito opened up new opportunities for collaborative development, community-driven research, and inclusive growth.

This engagement also contributes to CNU’s goals for institutional accreditation, reaffirming the university’s commitment to community-responsive, research-based extension services that uplift lives, and foster sustainable progress.
