PAGKAKAIBA NG SPED, SNED at ILRC

1. SPED (Special Education)
• Ano ito: Tradisyunal na modelo, hiwalay ang mga mag-aaral na may kapansanan sa regular na klase.
• Pokus: Individualized instruction batay sa espesipikong kapansanan.
• Lugar: Hiwa-hing silid-aralan o SPED Center.
• G**o: SPED teacher.
• Goal: Magbigay ng specialized support para sa bawat mag-aaral.

2. SNED (Special Needs Education) / Inclusive Education
• Ano ito: Modernong konsepto ng inklusyon sa ilalim ng Philippine Inclusive Education Policy.
• Pokus: Pagsasama ng LSENs sa regular na klase.
• Lugar: Regular na silid-aralan, kasama ang mga non-LSEN students.
• G**o: Regular teacher na sinusuportahan ng SNED teacher.
• Goal: I-integrate ang mag-aaral sa mainstream classroom habang sinusuportahan ang pangangailangan nila.

3. ILRC (Inclusive Learning Resource Center)
• Ano ito: Physical hub o sentro na nagbibigay ng specialized support at therapy.
• Pokus: Magbigay ng speech, occupational, physical therapy, assessment, bridging program, e-libraries at ICT tools.
• G**o/Staff: Specialists at therapists.
• Goal: Support system para maging successful ang LSENs sa inclusive classroom.

Bottomline:
• SPED → tradisyunal, hiwalay.
• SNED → polisiya at strategy ng inklusyon sa regular class.
• ILRC → physical hub na nagbibigay ng resources at therapies para suportahan ang SNED.

National Intellectual Disability Week

Ang National Council on Disability Affairs (NCDA) ay inaanyayahan ang buong bansa sa paggunita ng 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤 alinsunod sa Proklamasyon Blg. 1385, s. 1975. 💙

Ngayong taon, tampok ang temang:
“Ginintuang Ani ng Pag-ibig Tungo sa Matagumpay at Tunay na Inklusyon.”

Ipinapaalala ng temang ito na ang inklusyon ay hindi basta adhikain—ito ay bunga ng tuloy-tuloy na malasakit, tamang suporta, at sama-samang pagkilos. Ang “ginintuang ani” ay sumisimbolo sa tagumpay na nakakamit kapag ang mga batang may intellectual disability ay nabibigyan ng maagang interbensyon, inklusibong edukasyon, at pantay na oportunidad sa komunidad.

Hinihikayat ng NCDA ang mga lokal na pamahalaan, paaralan, institusyon, at pamilya na higit pang palakasin ang maagang interbensyon, inklusibong edukasyon, at komprehensibong suporta. Ang tunay na inklusyon ay hindi lamang pagdiriwang tuwing may paggunita—ito ay konkretong aksyon, patas na oportunidad, at paggalang sa karapatang pantao at sa kapansanan araw-araw.

February is National Down Syndrome Consciousness Month

This February, NCDA proudly invites everyone to join the nation in celebrating National Down Syndrome Consciousness Month.

Through Presidential Proclamation No. 157, issued on February 18, 2002, February was officially declared National Down Syndrome Consciousness Month—a time to raise awareness, promote inclusion, and honor the unique abilities, voices, and contributions of persons with Down Syndrome.

This month reminds us that understanding leads to acceptance, and acceptance builds a more inclusive society for all.
