It saddens us deeply to announce the passing of a revered artist and a true pride of the Special Program in the Arts (SPA)—our very own Oyvin C. Valencia, “Thonix.”
Today, we mourn not only the loss of a gifted artist and educator, but also the loss of a loving father, a trusted friend, a mentor, and a remarkable individual whose presence touched so many lives. We extend our deepest sympathy and prayers to his family, friends, colleagues, students, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing and working with him.
Sir Thonix will always be remembered for his invaluable contributions to the arts and for the lasting impact he made on countless student leaders, young artists, and aspiring creatives. His passion for his craft, his dedication to excellence, and his relentless pursuit of growth in his field have left a legacy that will continue to inspire generations.
To the artist who gave so much of himself to the arts, to the mentor who guided and believed in his students, to the friend who shared his time and talent, and to the father who loved his family dearly—we thank you.
A salute to your life, your artistry, your service, and your unwavering pursuit of excellence.
Truly, Sir Thonix, you will be greatly missed, but you will never be forgotten.
And though our hearts are heavy with grief, we find comfort and rejoice in the knowledge that you have rested in Christ. May you rest peacefully in the arms of the Lord, where there is no more pain, no more sorrow, and only eternal peace.
