A few months ago, I trained hundreds of DepEd CAR school heads to make sense of learning data and turn evidence into targeted action. Beyond the data were stories of perseverance and resolve from seasoned and young school leaders.

The chasm in learning is real; so too are the capacity and willingness to close it. There is hope, indeed.

PISA 2025 has put computational problem solving firmly on the learning agenda.

That makes this work especially meaningful to me.

Proud of the team that gave form to a vision we first pursued through : to bring the classroom of the future into classrooms today, and to put coding within reach of more learners.

Code Along with Aralinks is another step in that direction. Because coding is no longer just about learning to program. It is a way of learning to think, solve, build, test, and create.

Day 1 at SLMC: your favorite Jollibee sopas in hand, happily managing on your own because, of course, you needed no help. That was so you.

The days and months that followed would tell a different story, sadly sans Jollibee.

But this photograph feels like a visiting hour of its own, letting me see once more the Nanay I knew so well: fiercely independent, quietly content, always doing things her way.

And for a moment, it draws you close, Nanay ko, and I feel alive again, even ss I know I will never again have the simple privilege of buying you your Jollibee sopas.

Yes, I wish that heaven had visiting hours.
