JSNHS Successfully Conducts Club Elections with Support from Teachers and SSLG
Joaquin Smith National High School (JSNHS) successfully conducted its Club Elections on June 18, 2026, marking an important step in strengthening student leadership and participation for the new school year.
Students from various clubs gathered to elect their respective officers, including Presidents, Vice Presidents, Secretaries, Treasurers, Auditors, and other key positions. The elections were carried out in an organized and democratic manner, allowing students to choose leaders who will represent and serve their fellow members throughout the academic year.
The success of the activity was made possible through the guidance and support of club advisers, teachers, and the Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG). Teachers supervised the election process to ensure fairness and order, while SSLG officers assisted in coordinating activities and facilitating the smooth flow of the elections.
Various school organizations participated in the event, including academic, cultural, environmental, leadership, and service-oriented clubs. The elections provided students with an opportunity to practice responsible decision-making and experience the value of democratic participation.
School officials emphasized that student organizations play a vital role in developing leadership, teamwork, communication, and organizational skills among learners. Through these clubs, students are encouraged to explore their interests, develop their talents, and contribute positively to the school community.
With newly elected officers ready to take on their responsibilities, JSNHS looks forward to a productive and meaningful year of club activities, projects, and student-led initiatives that will benefit the entire Joaquinian community.

JSNHS Conducts Earthquake Drill to Strengthen Disaster Preparedness
Joaquin Smith National High School (JSNHS) successfully conducted an earthquake drill on June 18, 2026, as part of its commitment to promoting disaster preparedness and ensuring the safety of students, teachers, and personnel.
The drill began with the sounding of the school bell, signaling participants to immediately perform the "Duck, Cover, and Hold" procedure. Students and staff remained calm and followed the proper safety protocols while inside their classrooms and work areas.
Upon the evacuation signal, learners, teachers, and school personnel proceeded to the designated evacuation areas in an orderly manner. Members of the Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG), Red Cross Youth volunteers, and school officials assisted in guiding students and maintaining discipline throughout the activity.
The drill aimed to raise awareness and prepare the school community for possible earthquake emergencies. It also served as an opportunity to assess the school's readiness and improve response procedures during disaster situations.
School officials reminded everyone that preparedness, presence of mind, and cooperation are essential during emergencies. They also encouraged students to take disaster drills seriously, as these exercises help save lives during actual calamities.
Through activities like this, JSNHS continues to strengthen its culture of safety and resilience, ensuring that every Joaquinian is equipped with the knowledge and skills needed during emergencies.
