A significant step toward academic collaboration and sustainable development was marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the Philippine College of Science and Technology โ€“ College of Computer Studies (CCS) and Baguio Central University โ€“ College of Business Administration (CBA) on April 8, 2026, held in Calasiao, Pangasinan. The agreement formalizes the partnership between the two institutions through the implementation of a Faculty Exchange Program aimed at enhancing instructional quality, research productivity, and institutional linkages while contributing to global development goals.

The MOA signing also marked the initial implementation of the partnership, as faculty members from BCU served as resource speakers, sharing expertise on capstone development and the integration of technology in research. This immediate engagement reflects the practical and outcomes-driven nature of the agreement.

Through this initiative, the Philippine College of Science and Technology and Baguio Central University reaffirm their commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and sustainable development. The College of Business Administration (CBA) proudly shares a meaningful milestone as it was invited to serve as resource speakers at Philippine College of Science and Technology on April 8, 2026, held in Calasiao, Pangasinan.

Dr. Cherrie Mae M. Manuel, Dean of CBA, together with Ms. Marga L. Taganas, CPA, MBA, BSBA Program Coordinator, delivered an insightful session on โ€œIntegrating Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and AI Technologies in Capstone Project Implementation.โ€ Drawing from their recent Capstone Training, the speakers emphasized how academic projects can transcend classroom requirements and become tools for addressing real-world challenges.

The session was attended by Information Technology students from the College of Computer Studies (CCS) of Philippine College of Science and Technology (PhilCST), as part of their preparation for their Capstone subject. Students were guided on how to align their project ideas with relevant Sustainable Development Goals while leveraging AI technologies to develop innovative, data-driven solutions.

Highlighting the importance of relevance and impact, the speakers encouraged students to design capstone projects that respond to societal needs, integrating technology with sustainability principles. The workshop concluded with students presenting their initial capstone project ideas using NotebookLM, showcasing creativity, critical thinking, and practical application of the concepts learned.

This engagement not only strengthened academic collaboration but also paved the way for future initiatives. Accepting this invitation opens promising opportunities for a Faculty Exchange Program between BCU-CBA and PhilCST-CCS, fostering knowledge sharing, innovation, and continuous alignment with global development goals.

The College of Business Administration (CBA) conducted the CBA Echo Session: Women in Motion on March 13, 2026, at MJF Hall, with the theme โ€œWomen Leading Quality, Integrity, and Continuous Improvement.โ€ The activity formed part of the institutionโ€™s celebration of Womenโ€™s Month, highlighting the important contributions of women in leadership, education, and community engagement.

The program commenced with the welcome remarks from the Vice President for Academic Affairs, who acknowledged the presence of participants from various colleges and emphasized the significance of recognizing womenโ€™s contributions across different sectors. The message underscored how women continue to play vital roles in shaping institutions, communities, and future leaders.

Their presentations highlighted themes on leadership, professional growth, quality assurance, and the importance of integrity and continuous improvement in academic and organizational settings.

An inspiring segment of the program was delivered by the extension partners from Barangay Purok 27, Irisan, namely Maribel W. Espada, Loreta E. Torchangon, Rose H. Decwacten, Magdalena H. Corse, and Annabelle K. Ramos. Their presence reflected the strong partnership between the college and the community in advancing women empowerment initiatives.

During her message, Ms. Maribel W. Espada shared a meaningful reflection on the word WOMEN, describing it as Women of faith, Outstanding, Mother, Enduring, and Noble. Her message emphasized the strength, resilience, and nurturing roles that women embody within families and communities.

In recognition of their leadership and contributions to community development, the extension partners from Barangay Irisan were honored by the College of Business Administration through the awarding of certificates and tokens of appreciation as Women Leaders. This gesture acknowledged their dedication to service, empowerment, and community engagement.

The activity also aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 5: Gender Equality, which promotes the empowerment of women and girls, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, highlighting collaboration between academic institutions and communities in achieving sustainable development.

Overall, the CBA Echo Session: Women in Motion served as a meaningful platform for learning, reflection, and recognition, reinforcing the vital role of women in promoting quality, integrity, continuous improvement, and inclusive development both within the academic institution and in the broader community.
