𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗽𝘂𝗿𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗲, 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻!✨

We took the stage for our first performance of the year at 𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐥𝐮𝐛𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐍𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, welcoming our new freshies through the vibrant rhythm of the Kalinga 𝑻𝒂𝒋𝒐𝒌/𝑻𝒂𝒄𝒉𝒐𝒌.

The 𝑻𝒂𝒋𝒐𝒌 is a traditional celebratory dance performed during life’s most joyful milestones, from budong/bodong (peace pacts) and grand feasts to welcoming new beginnings. Rooted in the word " 𝙢𝙖𝙢𝙖𝙮𝙖𝙟𝙤𝙠 ", the steady beat of the feet and the bird-like movement of the body carries a legacy that spans ancient warrior victory celebrations to modern community gatherings.

Just as the 𝑻𝒂𝒋𝒐𝒌 is danced to express gratitude and offer prayers for prosperity, we offer this performance to our incoming freshies. May your stay in our academic community be healthy, fulfilling, and filled with shared joy.

Paggawisan Tako Am-in (PAGTA) is officially an 𝘼𝙘𝙘𝙧𝙚𝙙𝙞𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙊𝙧𝙜𝙖𝙣𝙞𝙯𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙪𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙧 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙂𝙡𝙤𝙗𝙖𝙡 𝙔𝙤𝙪𝙩𝙝 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙜𝙧𝙖𝙢 (𝙂𝙔𝙋)! 🌻🌍

Rooted in community service, cultural integrity, and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), we are taking our youth-led advocacy to the next level.

A massive thank you to Mr. Justine Rodrigo (National Network Coordinator, UN SDSN Youth Philippines) for the warm welcome! His inspiring orientation on GYP’s vision and strategic goals sparked an even bigger fire in us to drive collective action.

The years of hard work, sleepless nights, and tireless dedication have finally led to this moment. You have been the backbone of PAGTA as friends, leaders, mentors, and family. Through your volunteering and unwavering advocacy, you chose to stand with our Indigenous Peoples communities. You listened and you learned with and for the community. Your warmth and wisdom have transformed this organization, leaving an unforgettable mark on our hearts and ensuring that PAGTA remains a true home for many.

PAGTA-UPB joins in commemorating the 42nd Peoples’ Cordillera Day: “Ipinget ti Karbengan iti Daga, Biag, ken Kabiagan!” (Assert Our Right to Land, Life, and Livelihood)

This day, we honor our region’s historical journey in protecting land and life, rooted in the brave stand of Macliing Dulag against the Chico Dam project. As we remember, may we continue to move forward with commitment to community and self-determination.
