Following the successful conduct of the 2nd Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) on June 18, 2026, Adiwang Integrated School held a post-evaluation activity to assess the effectiveness of the drill and identify areas for improvement in the school's disaster preparedness efforts.
The evaluation was led by the school's partners from the Philippine National Police (PNP), Sir Angedan and Sir Manzano, together with UC Intern Russel Estigoy. Also present during the activity were parents, incoming and outgoing School Parents-Teachers Association (SPTA) officers, school personnel, and administrators, whose participation contributed valuable insights and recommendations.
During the discussion, the evaluators commended the school community for its active participation and orderly conduct throughout the drill. However, several areas for improvement were identified to further enhance the safety and preparedness of learners and personnel during emergency situations.
Among the recommendations raised were the following:
โข Learners from the new building should be more alert and mindful in managing their time when proceeding to the designated evacuation area to ensure prompt and orderly movement.
โข Upon arrival at the evacuation area, teachers should immediately conduct a count-off or attendance check. Learners whose sections are not yet complete should remain standing until all members have arrived or complete.
โข During future earthquake drills, learners should adjust their positions and move farther backward in the evacuation area since the current location may still be exposed to potential hazards and risks.
โข As much as possible, learners should be encouraged to carry whistles during emergencies to facilitate communication and signaling when assistance is needed.
โข Grade-level placards should be visible and readily available during evacuations, as some sections were observed without proper identification markers.
In addition to the earthquake drill evaluation, the PNP partners expressed their willingness to conduct learner orientations focusing on discipline, proper behavior, and the prevention of gang and fraternity involvement. This initiative aims to strengthen awareness among learners and promote a safe and positive school environment.
The post-evaluation activity concluded with a shared commitment among school personnel, parents, community partners, and learners to continuously improve the school's emergency response mechanisms and ensure a safer learning environment for all.
