The local government of Baguio suspends classes at all levels in both public and private schools on February 28 (Saturday) to pave the way for the 𝗣𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗯𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗮 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗗𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲, one of the major highlights of the annual Panagbenga Festival in Baguio City.
The suspension aims to ensure public safety amid expected road closures, heavy traffic, and large crowds during the celebration. Residents and visitors are advised to plan their travel accordingly and to follow traffic and public safety advisories issued by the local government.
This is in accordance with the Executive Order No. 24 series of 2026.

The Association of Geodetic Engineering Students (AGES), in association with the Saint Louis University (SLU) School of Engineering and Architecture Performing Arts Group (SEA PAG) and the Geodetic Engineering Students Association – University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao Chapter (GESA-USLT), successfully concluded its 10th annual North Luzon Geodetic Engineering Students Conference (NLGESC) with the theme “Masakbayan: Seeing Beyond Maps, A Decade of Shaping a Better Future” held on 7 and 8 February 2026, at the Fr. Theophile Verbist Hall, SLU Sacred Heart Medical Center (SLU SHMC) Parking Building.
The event was attended by different North Luzon institutions that offer geodetic engineering programs:
- Baguio Central University (BCU)
- Bulacan Agricultural State College (BASC)
- Mountain Province State University (MPSU)
- University of Northern Philippines (UNP)
- University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao (USLT),
- and the host school, Saint Louis University (SLU), Baguio City
The event was attended by 135 student delegates and faculty. 60 students and faculty were from SLU.

𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝟏 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝟏𝟎𝐭𝐡 𝐍𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐧 𝐋𝐮𝐳𝐨𝐧 𝐆𝐞𝐨𝐝𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 brought together delegates from participating universities across Northern Luzon for the beginning of a milestone celebration of learning, collaboration, and shared purpose.

Delegates gathered at the 𝐅𝐫. 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐞 𝐕𝐞𝐫𝐛𝐢𝐬𝐭 𝐇𝐚𝐥𝐥 for registration and distribution of conference kits, officially marking the start of two meaningful days at the 𝐋𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐍𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐡. The atmosphere was filled with excitement, made even more memorable by the special appearance of 𝐍𝐀𝐕𝐈, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐭 𝐋𝐨𝐮𝐢𝐬 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐦𝐚𝐬𝐜𝐨𝐭,, warmly welcoming everyone.
