Southeast Asian Games kickboxing gold medalist Zyra Bon-as has shared a heartfelt message reflecting on her roots, her recent victory, and the people and institutions that supported her journey to the international stage.

In a social media post following her gold medal win in the biennial Southeast Asian Games, Bon-as traced her heritage across several Cordillera provinces. She said her roots are from Tadian and Sadanga in Mountain Province and that she is part Balinciagao from Pasil, Kalinga, through her Banasan family.
