E-WARRANT SYSTEM LEADS TO ARREST OF PASSENGER WITH DECADE-OLD THEFT WARRANT AT NAIA

Under the leadership of Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., Chief, Philippine National Police (PNP), police authorities at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) acted on a long-standing warrant of arrest after an arriving passenger was identified through the PNP E-Warrant System.

The 52-year-old passenger was intercepted by Bureau of Immigration personnel at NAIA Terminal 1 on September 25, 2026, pursuant to an Alert List Order. He was subsequently referred to the NAIA Police Station 1 for verification, where the PNP E-Warrant System confirmed an existing warrant connected to a 2015 Theft case.

Personnel from NAIA Police Station 1, together with the CIDG Regional Field Unit NCR-Southern Metro Manila District Field Unit, then carried out the service of the warrant in accordance with established legal procedures.

Chief PNP PGen Nartatez emphasized that the use of police information systems strengthens coordination and allows police units to respond appropriately when existing court processes are confirmed.

“Our systems are there to help our personnel make the right checks at the right time. Once a warrant is confirmed, we act on it properly and let the legal process take its course,” PGen Nartatez said.

The individual was turned over to the custody of the CIDG RFU NCR-SMMDFU for documentation and appropriate legal proceedings.

PNP BOLSTERS PUBLIC ASSISTANCE AS TRANSPORT STRIKE MAY DISRUPT DAILY COMMUTE

The Philippine National Police (PNP) is strengthening public assistance measures ahead of the three-day transport strike called by transport groups from September 28 to 30, as police units prepare to assist commuters and communities that may be affected by transportation disruptions.

Under the leadership of Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., Chief, PNP, concerned police units have been directed to coordinate with local government units, transport authorities, and other partner agencies to ensure that assistance remains accessible to the public while maintaining peace and order in affected areas.

Police personnel will maintain visibility in key locations and remain ready to respond to emergencies, assist commuters, and coordinate with authorities on available transportation support. Where needed, existing PNP “Libreng Sakay” initiatives may likewise be mobilized in coordination with concerned local authorities to help commuters who may have difficulty reaching their destinations.

The preparations form part of the PNP's implementation of the PNP Focused Agenda, particularly under Enhanced Managing Police Operations (EMPO), which calls for responsive and coordinated police service based on the needs of the community.

“Kapag may abala sa biyahe, kailangan nandiyan ang police para tumulong. We are preparing not only for security concerns but also for commuters who may be stranded or having difficulty getting to work, school, or home. Where appropriate, our existing Libreng Sakay efforts can also help,” PGen Nartatez said.

He also reminded police personnel to remain professional and respectful of the rights of all sectors throughout the activity.

“We will respect peaceful expression, and we will also protect the public. Ang mahalaga, may respeto sa karapatan ng bawat isa at walang mapipigilan sa mapayapang paraan. At kung may nangangailangan ng tulong, nandiyan ang ating mga pulis,” the Chief PNP added.

The PNP recognizes the right of citizens to peacefully express their concerns and calls on all sectors to exercise restraint and respect the safety and rights of commuters, motorists, drivers, transport workers, and other members of the public.

PNP BRINGS CYBER SAFETY DRIVE TO SCHOOLS, BARANGAYS, COMMUNITIES NATIONWIDE

Under the leadership of Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., Chief, Philippine National Police (PNP), police cybercrime units across the country intensified their public awareness efforts this September, bringing practical guidance on online safety, scams, cyberbullying, cybersecurity, and other digital risks to schools, barangays, and communities in different parts of the country.

From September 11 to 18, 2026, PNP cybercrime personnel conducted a series of awareness activities involving students, teachers, educators, barangay officials, residents, university communities, and other stakeholders in Quezon, Ilocos Norte, Catanduanes, Aklan, Negros Island Region, Zamboanga City, Sarangani, and parts of Northern Mindanao.

The activities focused on concerns that ordinary users may encounter online, including suspicious links and messages, fraudulent schemes, cyberbullying, misuse of personal information, unsafe online interactions, and irresponsible sharing of digital content. Participants were also given guidance on recognizing potential risks and properly reporting harmful or suspicious online activity.

The PNP also used the engagements to strengthen awareness among young people and educators on responsible digital behavior, including concerns involving online radicalization and other harmful content that may reach school communities through digital platforms.

“People do not have to be technology experts to protect themselves online. Sometimes, it starts with simple things—checking before you click, thinking before you share, and asking for help when something does not feel right. Gusto natin na mas maging maalam at mas maingat ang ating mga kababayan sa paggamit ng technology,” PGen Nartatez said.

The Chief PNP emphasized that preventing cyber-related incidents requires more than police action, noting the importance of parents, teachers, local officials, schools, and communities in helping young people and other vulnerable users develop safer digital habits.

The continuing campaign forms part of the PNP Focused Agenda under Enhanced Managing Police Operations (EMPO), particularly its emphasis on preventive policing and closer engagement with communities as public safety concerns continue to evolve. OVER PHP14.6M WORTH OF SUSPECTED SHABU RECOVERED IN PNP OPS ACROSS THREE CITIES

The Philippine National Police (PNP), under the leadership of Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., Chief, PNP, recovered more than 2.1 kilograms of suspected shabu with an estimated standard drug price of PhP14.62 million in separate operations conducted in Pasig City, Cagayan de Oro City, and Zamboanga City on September 26, 2026.

In Pasig City, a buy-bust operation led to the arrest of a newly identified high-value individual and the recovery of approximately one kilogram of suspected shabu valued at about PhP6.8 million. The operation involved personnel of the Pasig City Police Station, supported by its drug enforcement and intelligence units and other local anti-drug personnel.

A separate operation in Barangay Indahag, Cagayan de Oro City, resulted in the arrest of another high-value individual and the recovery of approximately one kilogram of suspected shabu, also valued at around PhP6.8 million. The operation was carried out by personnel of the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 10, Regional Intelligence Division 10, Cagayan de Oro City Police Office, Special Operations Unit 10 of the PNP Drug Enforcement Group, and other supporting units.

In Zamboanga City, personnel of the Special Operations Unit 9, PNP Drug Enforcement Group, and Zamboanga City Police Office arrested two individuals identified as high-value individuals in an operation in Barangay Ayala. Approximately 150 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated standard drug price of PhP1.02 million were recovered.

The recovered drug evidence from the three operations was secured for proper documentation and laboratory examination, while the arrested individuals were placed under police custody for appropriate legal proceedings. The PNP is processing the filing of appropriate charges under Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Chief PNP PGen Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. emphasized that the results demonstrate the importance of sustained police operations supported by information gathering and coordination among units.

“We are not looking at these operations as isolated accomplishments. Each one is a result of police units doing their part, sharing information, and acting on verified leads. 3 ARRESTED, ₱8M WORTH OF CI******ES WITHOUT GRAPHIC HEALTH WARNINGS SEIZED IN NEGROS OCCIDENTAL

Under the leadership of Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., Chief, Philippine National Police (PNP), the PNP is reminding the public and to***co retailers to be mindful of the required graphic health warnings on to***co products following the seizure of approximately ₱8 million worth of ci******es without the prescribed warnings in Isabela, Negros Occidental.

The operation on September 25, 2026 resulted in the arrest of three adults and the recovery of 176 master cases of ci******es reportedly being transported, sold, or traded without the required graphic and textual health warnings. The operation was conducted by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), together with concerned police units in the Negros Island Region.

Beyond the recovery of the cigarette shipment, the PNP said the operation serves as a reminder that to***co products placed in the market are subject to health and consumer-protection requirements. Republic Act No. 10643, or the Graphic Health Warnings Law, requires to***co products to carry prescribed warnings intended to provide consumers with clear information on the health risks associated with to***co use.

For the public, the PNP encourages greater awareness when purchasing to***co products, including checking whether the required graphic health warnings are properly displayed. Retailers, distributors, and other concerned parties are likewise reminded to ensure that the products they handle comply with applicable laws and regulations.

MOST WANTED LIST TIGHTENS: 3 FUGITIVES ARRESTED IN CEBU, NUEVA VIZCAYA

The Philippine National Police, under the command of PNP Chief Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., arrested three most-wanted persons in separate operations in Cebu and Nueva Vizcaya on September 25, 2026, putting behind bars individuals facing charges ranging from Murder and Statutory R**e to violations of Republic Act No. 9165.

In Cebu City, CIDG Cebu CFU and RIU 7 arrested a legal-age Filipino male identified as the No. 4 Most Wanted Person of PRO 7 in Barangay Guadalupe. He was apprehended by virtue of a Warrant of Arrest for Murder, with no bail recommended, and is now under the custody of CIDG Cebu CFU.

In Toledo City, Cebu, CIDG Lapu-Lapu CFU and RIU 7 arrested another legal-age Filipino male, the No. 10 Most Wanted Person of PRO 7, in Barangay Matab-ang. He was wanted for two counts of violation of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and was arrested for service of sentence. He is under the custody of CIDG Lapu-Lapu CFU.

Meanwhile, in Barangay Lantap, Bagabag, Nueva Vizcaya, personnel of Bagabag MPS, 1st PMFC of Nueva Vizcaya PPO, and RIU 2 arrested a legal-age Filipino male listed as the No. 8 Most Wanted Person of PRO 2. He was apprehended by virtue of a Warrant of Arrest for Statutory R**e, with no bail recommended, and is currently under the custody of Bagabag MPS.

GUNS & DRUGS SEIZED: PNP DEALS HEAVY BLOW TO ALLEGED ZAMBALES ROBBERY GANG

The Philippine National Police, under the command of PNP Chief Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., dealt a heavy blow to an alleged robbery gang in Zambales after three separate operations on September 26, 2026 led to the recovery of seven fi****ms, one hand gr***de, assorted ammunition, and illegal drugs.

Two search warrant operations in San Antonio resulted in the seizure of six fi****ms, one hand gr***de, and assorted ammunition from individuals linked through police intelligence to the alleged robbery group. The recovered weapons and ammunition were secured as evidence for further investigation into their possible connection to criminal activities.

Meanwhile, a separate buy-bust operation in Cabangan led to the arrest of another suspect and the confiscation of 1.61 grams of suspected shabu, 30.1 grams of suspected ma*****na, and one caliber .38 revolver. The seized items were secured for proper examination and documentation, while appropriate charges are being pursued against the arrested suspect.

“Taking these weapons and illegal drugs off the streets directly prevents criminal networks from harming our communities. The PNP will remain aggressive, targeted, and unyielding in lawful operations to hold those responsible accountable,” PGEN Nartatez said.

4 HIGH-VALUE SUSPECTS FALL, P18.47-M SHABU SEIZED IN PASAY, BUTUAN OPS

The Philippine National Police, under the command of PNP Chief PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., seized nearly three kilograms of suspected shabu valued at P18,471,350.00 and arrested four high-value individuals in separate anti-illegal drug operations in Pasay City and Butuan City on September 25 and 26, 2026.

In Pasay City, personnel of the NAIA-Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group arrested a Filipino suspect of legal age at a mail processing facility along Domestic Road on September 25, resulting in the confiscation of more or less 743 grams of suspected shabu worth P3,157,750.00. The suspect and seized evidence were turned over to the PDEA Main Office for documentation, laboratory examination, and proper disposition.

In Butuan City, personnel of Police Station 3, Butuan City Police Office, and the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 13 conducted a buy-bust operation in Barangay Bancasi on September 26, leading to the arrest of three Filipino suspects of legal age, all classified as high-value individuals. The operation yielded more or less 2,252 grams of suspected shabu valued at P15,313,600.00, along with buy-bust money and other non-drug items. The arrested suspects and confiscated evidence are under the custody of RPDEU 13.

“These operations underscore our sustained efforts to disrupt the illegal drug trade and prevent dangerous drugs from reaching our communities. We will remain focused on pursuing individuals involved in the distribution of illegal drugs and bringing them before the proper authorities,” PGEN Nartatez said.

“Our goal isn’t just to react; it’s to create an absolute dead-end for illegal drugs in our streets. Ang sinumang magtatangkang magbenta nito ay haharap sa buong bigat ng batas,” he added.
