PCNHS YES-O Leads Clean-Up Drive at Barangay Palma Urbano
Last Saturday, September 20, 2025, the Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (YES-O) of PCNHS spearheaded a community clean-up drive at Barangay Palma Urbano. The activity was joined by different school clubs and volunteer teachers who worked hand-in-hand to collect waste, clear pathways, and promote environmental awareness among residents.
The initiative is part of the September environmental activities that highlight the importance of sustainability and collective action in caring for our surroundings. September is recognized as a month dedicated to environmental protection, with campaigns focusing on clean air, disaster preparedness, and the reduction of pollution. Anchoring the clean-up drive to these themes, YES-O emphasized that small acts of service such as community cleaning contribute to bigger goals of climate resilience and healthier ecosystems.
The participation of students from different clubs alongside their teachers also showcased the spirit of bayanihan. It was a living example of how youth and educators can partner with local communities in fostering responsibility toward nature.
Barangay Palma Urbano officials expressed their appreciation to PCNHS for extending support to the community. They emphasized that efforts like this not only beautify the surroundings but also raise awareness on the need for waste management and environmental care.
The YES-O expressed its commitment to continue organizing environmental projects throughout the school year, encouraging every student to become active stewards of the Earth. The clean-up drive ended with a reminder that protecting the environment is not a one-day event, but a daily responsibility shared by all.
