Queenship of Mary
On this day, August 22, we honor the Queenship of Mother Mary. A feast in commemoration of the Blessed Virgin Mary, assumed into heaven and was crowned as Queen of Heaven and Earth by her Divine Son Jesus Christ.
Although established by Pope Pius XII in 1954, today's feast has its origins in the Sacred Scripture. From the Old Testament, a king's mother has a significant influence in court. During the Annunciation, the angel Gabriel also announced that her Son would receive the throne of David and will rule forever. At her Visitation, Elizabeth calls her "mother of my Lord". These accounts indicate that Mother Mary's queenship is also a share in Jesus' kingship. Throughout history, Church fathers and doctors continued to use the title of "Queen" and "Lady". Even hymns of the 11th and 13th centuries continue to address Mother Mary as "Hail Holy Queen" and "Queen of Heaven".
Succeeding the Assumption, the feast is celebrated on the octave day. According to Pope Pius XII'S To the Queen of Heaven, Mother Mary is deserving of the title "Queen" because she is "Mother of God". closely tied as the New Eve with Jesus' redemptive work and because of her ability to intercede our prayers.
Today, we continue to honor her queenship by asking her intercession in our prayers.
Altogether, Let us pray:
Mother and Queen of Heaven, this day I run to you as a child with confidence and trust. You are the glorious Queen Mother, reigning over all of your children with love and mercy. Please pray for me, and bestow upon me all that I need. I open my heart to the grace of your Son, which you are entrusted to dispense. Make me holy and free from sin, so you can present me spotless and pure to your beloved Son, the King of the Universe. Queen of Heaven, pray for me. Jesus, I trust in You. Amen.
Mother Mary, pray for us.

Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary
Today, August 15, 2026, we rejoice in the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the glorious moment when she was taken up body and soul into heaven at the end of her earthly journey. Deeply rooted in early Christian devotion and formally declared a Church dogma in 1950, the Assumption reminds us of our own spiritual destiny.
Because Mary lived a life of perfect grace and pure devotion, she was spared the decay of death. She stands before us as the ultimate fulfillment of a life entirely surrendered to God's will, pointing humanity toward the eternal joy of heaven.
This feast holds a profound significance for our Saint Louis School, Inc. community, highlighting the Marian nature of our institution lovingly nurtured by our dearest ICM Missionary Sisters. For our students, Maryβs courageous "Yes" to God is an invitation to embody the true ICM missionary spirit that calls to strive for academic excellence while building a character defined by humility, compassion, and joyful service to others. For our dedicated teaching and non-teaching persoonel, the Assumption validates the sacredness of our shared mission. It inspires us to carry forward the legacy of our ICM Sisters, elevating the daily work of teaching, mentoring, and administration into acts of devotion that form the minds and hearts of the next generation after the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
Let us pray:
Heavenly Father, You crowned the Blessed Virgin Mary with unsurpassing glory, taking her body and soul into heaven. Grant that we, the students, teaching and non teaching personnel of Saint Louis School, Inc., may always strive toward heavenly things while faithfully living out our school's Marian and missionary calling. May the prayers of our Blessed Mother continue to guide our steps, bless the enduring work of the ICM Missionary Sisters, and bring grace to our ICM Louisian Community. Through Christ our Lord, Amen.
Mary, Assumed into Heaven, pray for us!

Muling Buhayin ang Pagmamahal sa Sariling Wika! π΅πβ¨
ππ΅π
