University of Baguio Welcomes its Freshmen with a Blasting "Dapit Ubiano: Living in a High City Summerโ Walk

On August 29, 2024, UB Cardinal Gym, Baguio City โ In honor of the institution's 76th founding anniversary, which falls under the theme "L.O.V.E. UB: Leveraging Opportunities and Valuing Experiences," the University of Baguio cordially welcomed its freshmen class with a colorful and lively parade. This event signifies the start of a new academic journey. This year's celebration embraced the theme โDapit Ubiano: Living in a High City Summer,โ which captures the essence of Baguioโs unique blend of urban life and tranquil mountains. Nursing students showed up
with beaming grins on their faces, brimming with enthusiasm and passion. The event began with a colorful march along Anacleto Street up until the university Cardinal Gym. Cheering wildly and in harmony, the freshmen of the School of Nursing personified the
essence of a true Ubian. In addition to serving as a rite of passage, the walk demonstrated the university's dedication to helping its students develop a feeling of belonging and community. After the parade, there were several interactive events and competitions, such as the ICONS Impersonation Competition, the culminating ceremony, the award ceremony, and a small-scale performance by the Music Society. Every element of the event embodied the theme
"Dapit Ubiano," which translates to "neighborly gatherings in Baguio," highlighting the value of student participation and collaboration.
