Here's a vocabulary tidbit:

Emily Dickinson 💔
''If I can stop one heart from breaking,
I shall not live in vain;
If I can ease one life the aching,
Or cool one pain,
Or help one fainting robin
Unto his nest again,
I shall not live in vain.''

When you remember me, it means that you have carried something of who I am with you, that I have left some mark of who I am on who you are. It means that you can summon me back to your mind even though countless years and miles may stand between us. It means that if we meet again, you will know me. It means that even after I die, you can still see my face and hear my voice and speak to me in your heart.
For as long as you remember me, I am never entirely lost. When I'm feeling most ghost-like, it is your remembering me that helps remind me that I actually exist. When I'm feeling sad, it's my consolation. When I'm feeling happy, it's part of why I feel that way.
If you forget me, one of the ways I remember who I am will be gone. If you forget, part of who I am will be gone. ~Frederick Buechner

You know, the poem "Nothing Gold Can Stay" is like a little nugget of wisdom from Robert Frost. It's all about how beautiful things don't last forever. Just think about how in spring, the leaves and flowers start off this gorgeous golden color - like they're made of gold. But that beauty doesn't stick around for long. The leaves turn green and before you know it, they're gone.Frost is sort of saying that the really perfect and beautiful stuff in life, just like those golden leaves, doesn't stick around forever. It's like life's way of telling us that nothing can stay perfect forever - everything changes and shifts with time.He throws in some tricky wording, like saying "Her early leaf's a flower; But only so an hour." That's him saying that the newness and beauty of those leaves is as brief as a single hour. It's kind of like saying, "Hey, even though things are amazing, they won't stay that way for long."
