In commemoration of the 128th Philippine Independence Day, the UC CCJE Interns together with Intern Advisers and RMFB 15 marked the occasion with a Road Run, symbolizing our collective journey toward nation-building, followed by an insightful seminar that deepened our appreciation of freedom and patriotism.
A powerful message by Atty. Cheryl L Daytec-Yangot shared during the seminar resonated with everyone:
"Freedom begins when people refuse to kneel."
This quote reminds us that freedom starts when individuals choose courage over fear, stand firm in their principles, and refuse to submit to oppression, injustice, or wrongdoing. Throughout history, our heroes earned our nation's liberty because they chose to stand tall and fight for what was right. Today, that same spirit lives on whenever citizens uphold truth, justice, and responsibility.
As future criminologists and public servants, may we embody the values of integrity, courage, and service, recognizing that true freedom is preserved not only through remembrance but through our actions every day.
