National Dengue Awareness Month is observed every June by virtue of Proclamation No. 1204 on April 21, 1998 by the President Fidel V. Ramos.
Dengue has been considered by the DOH as an all-year round disease which rises in incidence during the rainy season due to the presence of more breeding places for disease-causing aedes aegypti type of mosquitoes.
The enhanced 4S stategies calls for everyone to become prime movers in controlling mosquito population and avoiding any possible dengue deaths within the community since prevention is always better than cure.
