Springhills Integrated School officially begins a new chapter in its academic journey as it opens Grade 7 on June 8 for School Year 2026–2027, welcoming 50 pioneering Grade 7 learners. This milestone marks the school’s significant transition into a fully integrated institution, reinforcing its commitment to provide continuous, inclusive, and quality basic education.

The opening of Junior High School beginning with Grade 7 sets a strong foundation for academic excellence, with the pioneering roster of Grade 7 teachers taking on a vital role in shaping the tone, standards, and culture of the entire junior high program. As frontliners of this expansion, they are expected to establish best practices in instruction, classroom management, and learner development that will define the identity of the program in the years to come.

This milestone was made possible through the dedicated collaboration and steadfast support of education leaders from the Schools Division Office of Baguio City, the regional authorities of the Cordillera Administrative Region, and the national guidance of the Department of Education, Philippines. Their collective efforts ensured that the school’s transition aligns with established policies, standards, and the broader goals of educational development.

Strong support from the City of Baguio further underscores the importance of this expansion, reflecting the city’s continuing commitment to strengthening public education and expanding opportunities for learners.

At the community level, heartfelt appreciation is also extended to the Loakan Apugan Barangay Council for its full support and active partnership in advancing the school’s development initiatives. Their involvement highlights the vital role of local governance in fostering a supportive and engaged learning environment.

School leadership also acknowledges all SPTA & SGC officers, stakeholders, parents, and personnel who contributed to the approval process and preparations for implementation, emphasizing that this achievement is rooted in collaboration, perseverance, and shared purpose.

As Springhills Integrated School begins this journey on June 8 with its 50 Grade 7 learners, it moves forward with a renewed sense of purpose—strengthening its foundation for junior high education and building a future anchored on excellence, collaboration, and learner-centered development.

𝑷𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒔' 𝑶𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝑭𝒐𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒔 𝑯𝒐𝒎𝒆-𝑺𝒄𝒉𝒐𝒐𝒍 𝑪𝒐𝒍𝒍𝒂𝒃𝒐𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏

The fourth day of Brigada Eskwela commenced with a Parents' Orientation that gathered parents and guardians to discuss important school programs, expectations, and shared responsibilities for the upcoming school year. The activity was facilitated by Ma'am Rosalinda T. Obfan, with the active participation of Grade 5 Adviser Mr. Melvin Allan L. Dogaong and Grade 6 Adviser Ms. Lorena C. Flordeliza.

The orientation emphasized the crucial role of parents in supporting their children's educational journey and highlighted the importance of a strong partnership between the home and the school in ensuring learners' success.

𝑪𝒐𝒎𝒎𝒖𝒏𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝑷𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒏𝒆𝒓𝒔 𝑬𝒙𝒕𝒆𝒏𝒅 𝑺𝒖𝒑𝒑𝒐𝒓𝒕 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝑳𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒏𝒆𝒓𝒔

Demonstrating their commitment to education, the Baguio Community Cares and Action Center, represented by Sir Gael Carlos Lagnason and his team, generously provided merienda for Brigada volunteers. The organization also engaged in productive discussions regarding possible future opportunities and programs that could further support learners and the school community.

Their participation reflects the spirit of volunteerism and community involvement that Brigada Eskwela seeks to cultivate.

𝑭𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒊𝒂𝒍 𝑳𝒊𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒚 𝑶𝒑𝒑𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒖𝒏𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒆𝒔 𝑻𝒉𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒈𝒉 𝑺𝒕𝒂𝒌𝒆𝒉𝒐𝒍𝒅𝒆𝒓 𝑷𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒏𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒑

Another significant contribution came from Credit Cooperative ti Umili, represented by its Manager, Ms. Judith Awingan. The cooperative extended Brigada donations and shared proposed initiatives aimed at enhancing learners' financial literacy.

These opportunities are envisioned to complement Technology and Livelihood Education (TLE) competencies by equipping learners with practical knowledge and skills in financial management and responsible decision-making.

𝑽𝒐𝒍𝒖𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒆𝒓𝒔 𝑪𝒐𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒖𝒆 𝑺𝒄𝒉𝒐𝒐𝒍 𝑰𝒎𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝑬𝒇𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒔

Parents, teachers, and community volunteers remained actively engaged in various school improvement activities. Efforts focused on enhancing classrooms and school grounds through cleaning, beautification, and maintenance works.

Among the major activities conducted were the varnishing and repair of chairs and other school furniture, helping ensure that learners will have a safe, comfortable, and conducive environment when classes begin.

Springhills Integrated School continues to strengthen its commitment to school–community collaboration through the ongoing Orientation and Brigada Eskwela initiatives on Day 3 of school preparations.

The day’s activities actively engaged parents, guardians, and stakeholders in understanding school policies, classroom expectations, and support systems for the incoming school year. The orientation emphasized shared responsibility in ensuring learners’ academic success and holistic development.

𝑮𝒓𝒂𝒅𝒆-𝑳𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒍 𝑶𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝑯𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒍𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕𝒔

A combined orientation was conducted for Grade 2 and Grade 4 parents and guardians, followed by grade-level discussions.

Grade 2, under Adviser Connie Apaling, focused on foundational literacy and numeracy support, classroom routines, and strengthening home–school collaboration. Grade 4, facilitated by Adviser Rosalinda Obfan, highlighted upper elementary expectations, learner independence, and the importance of responsible behavior as learners transition to more advanced competencies.

𝑩𝒓𝒊𝒈𝒂𝒅𝒂 𝑬𝒔𝒌𝒘𝒆𝒍𝒂 𝑰𝒏𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒔

Brigada Eskwela activities continued with strong participation from parents, guardians, and volunteers, focusing on classroom preparation, cleaning activities, refurbishment of the proposed canteen area, and installation of lighting fixtures. The spirit of bayanihan was evident as stakeholders worked together to ensure a safe, clean, and conducive learning environment for learners.

The initiative was further strengthened through the delivery of Php 28,000 worth of Brigada Eskwela materials, provided by the City Government of Baguio and facilitated by the SDO Baguio City Social Mobilization Office, significantly supporting the school’s preparation efforts.

𝑬𝒏𝒓𝒐𝒍𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝑼𝒑𝒅𝒂𝒕𝒆

Springhills Integrated School records a total enrolment of 272 learners—148 males and 124 females—across Kindergarten to Grade 7 and the Non-Graded program.

Kindergarten has 17 learners, while Grade 1 and Grade 2 register 38 and 31 learners, respectively. Grade 3 has 34 learners, Grade 4 has 23, and Grade 5 has 39 learners. Grade 6 records 43 learners, while Grade 7 has the highest enrolment with 46 learners. The Non-Graded program accommodates 1 learner, ensuring inclusive education for all.

Enrolment remains ongoing as the school continues to welcome new and returning learners for the upcoming school year.

An Orientation Program for the parents and guardians of Kinder and Grade 7 learners was successfully conducted on June 2, 2026. The activity was led by Ma'am Gerlie Fernando, Kinder Adviser, and Ma'am Nelle Anne Bruzola, Grade 7 Adviser.

The orientation served as an important opportunity to introduce parents and guardians to the school's programs, policies, academic expectations, classroom procedures, and learner support systems for the incoming school year. Through this activity, parents gained valuable information that will help them guide and support their children's educational journey.

Attending class orientations is essential as it strengthens the partnership between the school and the home. It allows parents and guardians to better understand their roles in promoting their children's academic success, positive behavior, and overall well-being. Open communication and collaboration between teachers and families contribute significantly to creating a productive and supportive learning environment.

The school extends its heartfelt gratitude to all parents and guardians who took the time to attend and actively participate in the orientation. Your presence demonstrates your commitment to your children's education and strengthens our shared goal of providing quality learning experiences for every learner.

Meanwhile, the spirit of volunteerism and community cooperation was also evident during today's Brigada Eskwela activities. The school community was inspired by the presence and active participation of Punong Barangay Salvador Lumitap, who worked hand in hand with parents, teachers, and volunteers. His support and dedication encouraged everyone to contribute their time and effort in preparing a clean, safe, and welcoming learning environment for the opening of classes.

Together, through unity, cooperation, and shared responsibility, we continue to build a stronger school community for the benefit of all learners.
