Springhills Integrated School officially begins a new chapter in its academic journey as it opens Grade 7 on June 8 for School Year 2026โ2027, welcoming 50 pioneering Grade 7 learners. This milestone marks the schoolโs significant transition into a fully integrated institution, reinforcing its commitment to provide continuous, inclusive, and quality basic education.
The opening of Junior High School beginning with Grade 7 sets a strong foundation for academic excellence, with the pioneering roster of Grade 7 teachers taking on a vital role in shaping the tone, standards, and culture of the entire junior high program. As frontliners of this expansion, they are expected to establish best practices in instruction, classroom management, and learner development that will define the identity of the program in the years to come.
This milestone was made possible through the dedicated collaboration and steadfast support of education leaders from the Schools Division Office of Baguio City, the regional authorities of the Cordillera Administrative Region, and the national guidance of the Department of Education, Philippines. Their collective efforts ensured that the schoolโs transition aligns with established policies, standards, and the broader goals of educational development.
Strong support from the City of Baguio further underscores the importance of this expansion, reflecting the cityโs continuing commitment to strengthening public education and expanding opportunities for learners.
At the community level, heartfelt appreciation is also extended to the Loakan Apugan Barangay Council for its full support and active partnership in advancing the schoolโs development initiatives. As we conclude another meaningful day of Brigada Eskwela, we are reminded that positive change is made possible not only through grand gestures but through countless small acts of kindness, generosity, and service shared by our community.
The day was filled with dedicated teamwork and service from our stakeholders. Kag. Ernestina Malong together with volunteers and youth members actively participated in weeding and cleaning the Adopt-a-Park area, helping ensure a safer and more pleasant environment for everyone. At the same time, SK Chairperson Elias Pitok, together with dedicated parents, worked diligently on the continued improvement and organization of the refurbished school canteen, preparing a more functional and learner-friendly space for our students. Youth members also actively joined and supported the various clean-up and improvement activities, contributing their time and effort to the success of the day.

Even before Brigada Eskwela officially began, the SIS non-teaching staff had already been hard at work in preparation for the schoolโs readiness. Sir Audrino focused on the repair and improvement of the Grade 7 male and female comfort rooms, handwashing areas, and guardrails, ensuring safety and functionality for our learners. Maโam Edna took charge in maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the school surroundings, while Maโam Rachelle D. Garcia supervised and oversaw various enhancement efforts to ensure quality and consistency in school preparations. The entire team labored ahead of time, demonstrating commitment, teamwork, and genuine care for the learnersโ welfare.

Springhills Integrated School records a total enrolment of 272 learnersโ148 males and 124 femalesโacross Kindergarten to Grade 7 and the Non-Graded program.
Kindergarten has 17 learners, while Grade 1 and Grade 2 register 38 and 31 learners, respectively. Grade 3 has 34 learners, Grade 4 has 23, and Grade 5 has 39 learners. Grade 6 records 43 learners, while Grade 7 has the highest enrolment with 46 learners. The Non-Graded program accommodates 1 learner, ensuring inclusive education for all.
Enrolment remains ongoing as the school continues to welcome new and returning learners for the upcoming school year.

The orientation served as an important opportunity to introduce parents and guardians to the school's programs, policies, academic expectations, classroom procedures, and learner support systems for the incoming school year. Through this activity, parents gained valuable information that will help them guide and support their children's educational journey.
Attending class orientations is essential as it strengthens the partnership between the school and the home.
