ALS ENROLLMENT IS NOW OPEN!
(School Year 2026–2027)
The Alternative Learning System (ALS) District I of Itogon invites all interested OSYS and OSAS to enroll in the upcoming community-based enrollment schedules in various areas.
ALS is open to:
✔️ Out-of-school youths
✔️ Adults and working individuals
✔️ who were unable to finish Elementary or Junior High School (12 y.o. and above for Elementary and 16 y.o. and above for Junior High School)
✔️ Non-passers of previous ALS A&E Tests and Presentation Portfolio Assessments

This is the ALS online enrollment and survey form of the District I of Itogon for the School Year 2026-2027. ALS District I of Itogon caters to four (4) barangays of the municipality - Gumatdang, Loacan, Tuding and Ucab. Barangay Tinongdan is catered by the ALS District II of Itogon.
Who can enroll?
1. Out-of-school children aged 12 years old and above for the Elementary Level
2. Out-of-school youths and adults aged 16 years old and above for the Junior High School Level
3. Non-takers and non-passers of any previous Accreditation and Equivalency (A&E) Test and want to re-enroll in the program
4. Non-completers or non-passers of the recent portfolio assessments to undergo additional learning interventions
5. Those who never went to school and want to continue their studies

The Presentation Portfolios of the SY 2025-2026 Test Registrants were checked and validated by Ma’am Remy N. Dum-ao, Education Program Supervisor for ALS, and Ma’am Rose N. Anapen, Education Program Specialist II for ALS, today, March 16, 2026 at Tuding Community Learning Center.
During the visit, the portfolios of the ALS registrants were reviewed to ensure that the attachments were complete in preparation for the upcoming ALS Accreditation and Equivalency (A&E) Test. Ma’am Remy N. Dum-ao also signed the certification and endorsement of the registrants who are qualified to take the ALS A&E Test scheduled on March 29, 2026.
The ALS Itogon I Team expresses its gratitude to Ma’am Remy N. Dum-ao, Ma’am Rose N. Anapen and Sir Rodriguez L. Be**no for their time, support, and guidance in preparing the ALS learners for the upcoming examination.

Districts I and II of Itogon Unite for First Joint ALS Lympics in 2025
Itogon, Benguet | December 16-18, 2025
The 2025 Itogon ALS Lympics marked a historic milestone for the Alternative Learning System (ALS) in the municipality as Districts I and II of Itogon came together for the first time to jointly conduct the much-anticipated event.
For years, ALS learners in Itogon have celebrated the ALS Lympics as a platform for showcasing talent and teamwork. District I of Itogon has been conducting the ALS Lympics since 2017, establishing the activity as an annual highlight for ALS learners. Meanwhile, District II of Itogon held its first ALS Lympics in 2024, making the 2025 edition a significant step forward as both districts joined forces to stage a unified celebration.
The joint ALS Lympics featured a range of sports competitions, including basketball, volleyball, badminton, darts, and arm wrestling, as well as Indigenous Games (Laro ng Lahi) such as tug of war and sack race, which added cultural value and strengthened camaraderie among participants.
In addition to sports, the event also included musical, arts, and literary contests, providing learners with avenues to express creativity, intellect, and artistic skills. A Quiz Bee was also conducted, challenging participants through academic questions drawn from the learning strands of the Alternative Learning System. These competitions highlighted potentials in singing, instrumental performance, visual arts, academic competence, writing, and other forms of creative expression, promoting holistic involvement for the ALS learners.
The successful conduct of the 2025 Itogon ALS Lympics was made possible through the support of the Itogon Municipal Local Government Unit (MLGU), with funding sourced from the Special Education Fund (SEF). This support underscored the local government’s continued commitment to inclusive education and lifelong learning opportunities for all.
More than just a series of competitions, the 2025 Itogon ALS Lympics stood as a symbol of unity, collaboration, and shared purpose between Districts I and II of Itogon. The event strengthened partnerships among learners, teachers, and stakeholders, and reaffirmed the role of ALS in empowering individuals and building better communities in Itogon.

Bangit and Tabanda Excel in Quiz Bee

Depth of knowledge was on full display during the Quiz Bee competition of the 2025 Itogon ALS Lympics, where participants were tested through Easy, Moderate, and Difficult rounds. The questions were drawn from the six learning strands of the Alternative Learning System, challenging learners on a wide range of competencies and real-life knowledge.
In the Junior High School category, Lecelma Bangit of Poblacion CLC emerged as champion. While the early rounds remained tightly contested, Bangit pulled ahead in the Difficult Round, where each correct answer was worth five points. Her ability to answer high-value questions helped her earn first place.
Jade Panis of Virac CLC secured second place after a consistent performance across all rounds. Meanwhile, the battle for third place ended in a tie, with Jafet Llaneta of Tuding CLC and Fidel Jr. Nabokiag of Tram CLC sharing the spot.
In the Elementary Level category, Joan Steffany Tabanda of Tuding CLC claimed first place by displaying confidence and sharp recall throughout the competition. Fellow Tuding CLC participant Maolan Alumno followed closely behind, finishing in second place.
The Quiz Bee highlighted not only academic excellence but also the breadth of learning under the ALS program, celebrating learners who demonstrated focus, adaptability, and mastery across all learning strands during the 2025 Itogon ALS Lympics.

Itogon I Dominates Literary, Arts, and Musical Contests

Itogon I showcased creativity, talent, and artistic potentials at the 2025 Itogon ALS Lympics, sweeping several awards across the Literary, Arts, and Musical contests. The competitions brought together participants from various CLCs, displaying impressive show in singing, instrumental performance, poster making, and essay writing.
In the Vocal Solo category, Exequiel Lhoyd Bagtila of Tuding CLC led the pack, earning first place with an expressive performance. Marilou Solayao of Sabkil CLC took second place, followed by Erlli Romero of Tuding CLC in third.
In the Duet competition, Erlli Romero and Exequiel Lhoyd Bagtila of Tuding CLC harmonized their way to first place, while Lecelma Bangit of Poblacion CLC and Marilou Solayao of Sabkil CLC claimed second. In Guitar Solo, Erlli Romero of Tuding CLC demonstrated technical edge to secure first place, with Bagtila following closely in second.
Creativity extended beyond music into visual arts, as Marian Patis of Tuding CLC emerged victorious in the On-the-Spot Poster Making Contest.
The Essay Writing Contest showcased potential literary talent from both the junior high and elementary levels. In the Junior High School category, Girlie Micua of Baguio Gold CLC earned first place, with Lecelma Bangit of Poblacion CLC in second. For the Elementary category, Joan Steffany Tabanda claimed the top spot, followed by Kimberly Salac in second, both from Tuding CLC.
Their performances highlighted not only talent and creativity but also the joy of self-expression. The contests celebrated the unique abilities of ALS learners, leaving a lasting impression and inspiring everyone with the vibrant spirit of the 2025 Itogon ALS Lympics.

Itogon II Shines in Arm Wrestling

Strength and a little friendly rivalry defined the arm wrestling competitions at the 2025 Itogon ALS Lympics, with Itogon II proving to be a strong force.
In the Right-Hand category, Gerald Llusala of Virac CLC showed remarkable power and focus, pulling off a thrilling victory to claim the championship. His schoolmate, Clyde Balangcod, gave him a run and secured second place, while Exequiel Lhoyd Bagtila of Tuding CLC rounded out the podium in third.
The Left-Hand event was just as exciting. Jeson Jr. Vicente of Poblacion CLC demonstrated incredible control and stamina to take the top spot. Clyde Balangcod stayed consistent with another strong showing, finishing second, while Gerald Llusala added a third-place finish to his record.
The arm wrestling matches weren’t just about strength - they were about determination and the thrill of competition, making the event one of the highlights of the 2025 Itogon ALS Lympics.

Lasay Stages Stunning Comeback to Claim Darts Championship

From 0-2 to 3-2!
Tension and sheer determination defined the darts finals at the 2025 Itogon ALS Lympics as Franze Naguel Lasay of Loacan CLC snatched the championship in a spectacular comeback.
Facing his fellow Loacan CLC schoolmate, Adriane Shuntogan, in a best-of-five showdown, Lasay seemed to be on the ropes after dropping the first two games. With the odds stacked against him, he refused to give up. One game at a time, Lasay turned the tables around, hitting clutch moves and keeping cool under pressure.
From 0-2 down, he rallied to win the next three games, clinching the match 3-2 and emerging as the champion among eight darters.
The showdown was a thrilling display of precision and strategy, making it one of the most memorable moments of the 2025 Itogon ALS Lympics.

Danao Dominates Badminton Finals

Badminton action took center stage at the 2025 Itogon ALS Lympics as players showcased speed and precision across singles and doubles divisions.
In the Boys’ Singles division, Cremerson Danao of Ampucao CLC delivered a commanding performance, sweeping Eronzyl Cornel of Tuding CLC in a best-of-three series. Danao set the tone early in Game 1, showcasing his powerful smashes and precise drop shots to overwhelm his opponent 21-6. He continued to dominate in Game 2, maintaining relentless pressure and using his smashes to secure a 21-10 victory and claimed the singles championship.
The Boys’ Doubles finals highlighted teamwork and coordination as Brandy Basatan and Jeson Jr. Vicente of Poblacion CLC faced Ariel Betenio Jr. of Poblacion CLC and Jafet Llaneta of Tuding CLC. Basatan and Vicente came out composed and aggressive, winning the opening game 21-11. Despite tighter exchanges in the second game, their solid communication and timely plays carried them to a 21-16 victory, clinching the doubles title.
There was also an exciting Girls’ Singles championship match, where Joan Steffany Tabanda of Tuding CLC emerged as champion over Marilou Solayao of Sabkil CLC. Tabanda showed remarkable focus and consistency, winning the tight match with scores of 21-16 and 24-22, earning her the girls’ singles crown.
The badminton games contributed to another thrilling day of competition at the 2025 Itogon ALS Lympics and celebrating the athletes’ dedication to excellence and fair play.

Team Mamaw Rallies to Volleyball Gold in ALS Lympics Finale

Team Mamaw of Itogon I showed heart, patience, and teamwork as they captured the volleyball championship of the ALS Lympics, defeating Team Pinkish of Itogon II. The tournament, which featured four competing teams in a best-of-three series format, concluded with a final match that kept spectators fully engaged from the first serve to the last point.
Team Pinkish came out strong in the opening set, stringing together points and building what looked to be a comfortable lead. However, Team Mamaw refused to panic. Slowly and steadily, they began to close the gap, fueled by timely plays and renewed confidence. Crucial service aces from Franze Naguel Lasay played a vital role in turning the momentum, allowing Team Mamaw to mount their comeback. The set turned into a tensed exchange of set points, with both teams fighting for control, before Team Mamaw finally edged ahead to steal the extended first set, 30-28.
Riding the emotional lift of their dramatic comeback, Team Mamaw took complete command in the second set. Their errors minimized, their defense held firm, and their offense flowed smoothly. They dominated the set from start to finish, cruising to a 25-13 win to clinch the championship.
Jayrick Pinocyahan led the charge for Team Mamaw and was named Most Valuable Player for his variety of attacks, steady defense, and well-placed service aces that consistently pressured the defense of Team Pinkish. Alongside him, Lasay continued to make his presence felt from the service line, providing loaded serves that anchored Team Mamaw’s rhythm throughout the match.
Team Pinkish, despite falling short, showed admirable teamwork and determination. Their strong start in the opening set and collective effort were also impressive.
The volleyball championship served as a fitting highlight of the 2025 Itogon ALS Lympics - celebrating not just victory, but unity, and the shared love of the game.
