Accessing Communication: Support Strategies for Children of All Abilities ✨️

Last July 14, 2026, our parents and teachers participated in an informative and meaningful talk entitled "Accessing Communication: Support Strategies for Children of All Abilities," led by Mr. Ron Erasmo, RSLP, a Speech and Language Pathologist.

The session emphasized the importance of communication and how PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System) and AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) can help children, especially those on the autism spectrum, express their thoughts, needs, and feelings. Parents and teachers also learned about different AAC tools and practical strategies, such as modeling, self-talk, and using the right level of support based on each child's individual needs.

The seminar reminded us that every child communicates in their own way and learns at their own pace. By working together and using the right strategies, parents and teachers can better support our learners in developing meaningful communication skills.

🧠📱 Preparing kids for a digital future matters.

But does that mean every young child needs a device in their hands all day?

1:1 programs have moved fast into early elementary classrooms, often starting in kindergarten. 💻🖍️

Screens now sit alongside scissors, blocks, and pencils, sometimes taking center stage.

Early learning depends on building the basics first. Movement, play, social interaction, and hands-on problem solving. 🤸‍♂️🧩
These experiences shape attention, coordination, self-regulation, and learning readiness.

Technology is a tool, not a foundation. 🌱📄
For our youngest learners, less screen time and more real-world learning may be the smarter starting point.

SCHOOL SAFETY ADVISORY: Stricter Security Protocols Effective Tomorrow

In light of the recent tragic incident in Tacloban City, Happy Beginners School of Learning Inc. Bago Branch community stands in deep solidarity and prayers with the affected families, students, and educators.

To ensure our campus remains a sanctuary for learning, we will strictly implement Bag Inspections starting tomorrow, in compliance with DepEd Order No. 006, s. 2026 (Guidelines on Ensuring a Safe and Motivating Learning Environment).
Here is what you need to know about our enhanced safety protocols:

*Routine Inspections: All learners, personnel, and visitors must submit their bags for checking at the school entrance.

*Non-Contact Methods Only: Our school will strictly use search sticks. Physical pat-downs and "stop-and-frisk" methods are explicitly banned. Personnel will not touch personal belongings unless absolutely necessary.

*Full Searches: Will be conducted only with "reasonable suspicion" and will take place privately in the Admin's office, strictly in the presence of a designated staff member.

*Authorized Personnel: Inspections will be led by our security personnel or, in their absence, by designated non-teaching staff.

Tip for Parents & Students: Please arrive a few minutes earlier than usual starting tomorrow to give way to the checking process.

Our First Day!

The classrooms are alive with energy once again! From carefully cutting out crowns to proudly wearing them like royalty, our little learners are already diving into a brand-new year of discovery. We loved seeing all the bright smiles posing at our welcome photo booth.
