𝗠𝗮𝗱𝗮𝗺𝗼 𝗴𝗶𝗱 𝗻𝗴𝗮 𝘀𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗺𝗮𝘁, 𝗠𝗮𝘆𝗼𝗿 𝗟𝗲𝗼 𝗥𝗮𝗳𝗮𝗲𝗹 𝗠. 𝗖𝘂𝗲𝘃𝗮, for your generous support and for believing in our young athletes from Negros.

Taking our team to the international stage was not an easy journey. Behind every athlete were months of training, sacrifices, expenses, and a dream that we continued to chase even when the road was difficult.

Your support helped make that dream a little closer to reality.

In Vietnam, our athletes gave everything they had while proudly carrying the name of Negros and the Philippines. They came home with 𝟵 𝗚𝗼𝗹𝗱 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗮𝗹𝘀, 𝟭 𝗕𝗿𝗼𝗻𝘇𝗲 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗮𝗹, 𝟭 𝗞𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗼𝘀𝗵𝗼 / 𝗙𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗶𝘁 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱, 𝟭 𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗵𝘆, and 𝟯 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀. Most proudly, 𝗡𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘀 𝗦𝗵𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗶𝗸𝗮𝗻 became champions in 𝟳 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝟵 𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 and were crowned 𝗢𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀. 🏆🇵🇭⚔️

But when we look at those medals, we know they were never earned by the athletes alone.
There were people behind them who gave their time, their encouragement, and their support. People who believed that our young kendoka deserved the chance to compete, to experience the world, and to prove what athletes from Negros can do.

𝗧𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸 𝘆𝗼𝘂, 𝗠𝗮𝘆𝗼𝗿 𝗖𝘂𝗲𝘃𝗮, 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲.

We may be the ones who stood on the podium, but we will never forget the people who helped us get there.

𝗔 𝗡𝗘𝗪 𝗛𝗢𝗠𝗘. 𝗔 𝗡𝗘𝗪 𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗜𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗚𝗥𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗗. 𝗔 𝗡𝗘𝗪 𝗚𝗘𝗡𝗘𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗢𝗙 𝗖𝗛𝗔𝗠𝗣𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦. 🏆

Today marks the beginning of a new chapter as 𝗡𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘀 𝗦𝗵𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗶𝗸𝗮𝗻 officially begins training at 𝗟𝗲𝗶𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗛𝘂𝗯, Mandalagan, Bacolod City.! ⚔️🔥

And with this new location, we now have a total of 𝟰 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀 across Negros.

Our numbers are growing. Our training grounds are expanding. And our mission is getting bigger.

We are taking Kendo to more places across the province, searching for the next generation of fighters who will one day wear the colors of 𝗡𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 on the international stage. 🇵🇭🌏

The RAcademy Kendo – Negros Shiseikan Kendo Club delivered an outstanding performance at the Ho Chi Minh Open Kendo Tournament 2026 in Binh Duong, Vietnam, bringing home an impressive set of victories:

🏆 Champions in 7 of 9 Categories

With 8 winners from 8 delegates, the team proudly represented Negros Occidental and the Philippines on the international stage, competing alongside participants from Japan, USA, Korea, China, Vietnam, and other countries.

Their achievement is a testament to the discipline, dedication, and fighting spirit of our homegrown athletes. 🇵🇭

NEGROS KENDO TEAM NAGBIDA SA HO CHI MINH OPEN KENDO TOURNAMENT 2026

Naka-angkon sang siyam ka bulawan nga medalya ang Philippine Kendo Team nga ginrepresentar sang Negros Occidental sa ginpatigayon nga Open Kendo Tournament 2026 sa Ho Chi Minh.

Ginlakipan sang walo ka delegado ang grupo kag naka-angkon ang mga ini sang tig-isa ka kadalag-an sa hilikuton.

Nangin kampeon sa tagsa nga kategorya amo sanday Owen Morales, Jackie Louise Magpusao, Iolana Chen Marinduque, Lyndi Lou Mendoza, kag Lou Geconcillo.

Samtang ginhingadlan naman nga double champion sanday Robert Thomas Martinez kag Jowash Saballero.

Sa pihak nga bahin, nakuha man ni Juneseth Magpusao ang bronze medal.

Sa kabug-usan ang naangkon nga kadalag-an kag pagkilala sang grupo amo ang 9 Gold Medals, 1 Bronze Medal, 1 Fighting Spirit Award, 1 Overall Championship Trophy, kag 3 Championship Plaques.

On our last day in Vietnam before our flight back to the Philippines, our team was invited to train with 𝗧𝗼𝗺𝗼𝗸𝗮𝗶 𝗞𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗼 𝗖𝗹𝘂𝗯.

At first, we were hesitant to join because the tournament and days of intense training had already taken a toll on our bodies. But knowing it was our last day in Vietnam, we decided to come and make the most of the opportunity.

When we arrived, we were amazed by their beautiful dojo and warmly welcomed by the entire Tomokai Kendo Club. Under the guidance of 𝗕𝗮𝗼-𝗦𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗲𝗶, we trained together, learned new waza, and had the opportunity to spar with their strong Senpais.

Despite our tired bodies, it turned out to be one of the most memorable parts of our trip. We are truly grateful for the opportunity to learn, train, and share Kendo with our Vietnamese friends. 𝗟𝗼𝘂 𝗚𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗼, with 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗞𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗼 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲, became an 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗛𝗼 𝗖𝗵𝗶 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗵 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗻 𝗞𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗼 𝗧𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲.

With 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵𝘀 of Kendo, Lou already 𝘄𝗼𝗻 𝗕𝗿𝗼𝗻𝘇𝗲 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹. A few months later, he became a 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗡𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘀. With little experience, he made up for it through hard work, determination, and relentless effort.

But his journey was not easy.

Two weeks before the Vietnam tournament, 𝗟𝗼𝘂 𝗹𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗮 𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗵𝗼𝗺 𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗮 𝗯𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿.

During the final training before Vietnam, 𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝗲. Grief weighed heavily on him. He struggled in his matches and lost most of them. Then, on the first day of the tournament, he lost in the second round while his teammates continued winning their individual categories.

The pressure became even heavier.

That night, the entire 𝗦𝗵𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗶𝗸𝗮𝗻 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗱 𝗮𝗻 𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗺𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴. Jowash-Sensei reminded Lou of his Kendo, his hard work, and most importantly, his teammates reminded him that 𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗳𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗲.

The next day, 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝗵𝗶𝗺 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗱.

With the 𝘂𝗻𝗯𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗦𝗵𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗶𝗸𝗮𝗻 𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗶𝘁, he fought with everything he had and became a 𝗸𝗲𝘆 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗲𝗻’𝘀 𝟯-𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗖𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗼𝗿𝘆, helping lead Negros Shiseikan to the championship.

𝗜𝗻 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿, 𝗟𝗼𝘂 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗮𝗻 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗼𝗻. 🏆

But this victory was about more than a medal.

𝗦𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲𝘀, 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗻𝗼 𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗼𝗿 𝗱𝗼𝘂𝗯𝘁. 𝗜𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘂𝗽 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘃𝘆.
