Sit, eat, play, repeat 😋

9 months old and everything is food! 🥣

He’s sitting in our sensory tuff tray filled with rice grains, corn kernels, and spaghettini grass... eating a wood block.

This is Play Starters.

(And yes, we’re right there supervising every mouthful.)

Sorting. Organizing. Problem-solving. ☀️

Watch how this 3-year-old’s brain works:

Made vegetables stand → problem solved
Animals falling → used play dough as a base
Noticed big and small → partnered them
Wanted to organize → sorted by size
Found more animals → lined them all up

This is schema play. These repeated patterns of behavior where a child explores concepts like positioning, connecting, sorting, and organizing.

He wasn’t just playing. He was developing: problem-solving skills, mathematical thinking, spatial awareness and executive function.

This is Play Builders at The Play Hub - where play is learning.

She tried everything. And that’s exactly what we want. 🍎

Seven different activities in one class. She didn’t “finish” anything. She moved through the classroom following her curiosity.

At 16 months, this is how learning happens—through exploration, experimentation, and following interests from moment to moment 🌱

Our job? Keep the environment safe, materials accessible, and let her lead.

This is play and learn at The Play Hub.

This is what flow looks like.

Almost an hour with play dough. No interruptions. No redirecting. Just pure exploration.

He moved from slicing to golf tees to hammering to popsicle sticks, completely absorbed in his process.

This is what we want for every child at The Play Hub: the freedom to follow their curiosity for as long as it takes.

The last photo? That’s his work. His creation. His hour of flow 💜
