A virtual exploratory meeting was successfully held on August 5, 2026, at 4:30 PM (Philippine Standard Time) via Zoom between the Pampanga State University (Pampanga State U)โCollege of Education and the Office for International Partnerships and Programs (OIPP), Hiroshima Cosmopolitan University (HCU), Japan, and the Lyceum of the Philippines University (LPU)โManila to discuss collaborative initiatives, including the upcoming visit of Asst. Prof. Koki Otomo of HCU and Asst. Prof. Billy Natad of LPUโManila on August 14, 2026. The visit will feature the Gymnastics for All Seminar-Workshop for students of the Bachelor of Physical Education (BPEd) and Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Sports Sciences (BSESS) programs, while also serving as an avenue to explore broader academic and international partnership opportunities among the participating institutions.
The meeting underscored the shared commitment of the participating institutions to strengthen internationalization initiatives through academic cooperation, faculty and student engagement, and the exchange of expertise in the field of physical education and sports sciences. Discussions centered on the preparations for the forthcoming seminar-workshop, which aims to provide students with enhanced learning experiences through exposure to internationally recognized practices in gymnastics education.
Beyond the scheduled seminar-workshop, representatives exchanged ideas on potential collaborative endeavors, including faculty and student mobility programs, joint research initiatives, academic exchanges, and future capacity-building activities that align with the internationalization goals of the participating universities. The dialogue highlighted the importance of fostering sustainable partnerships that promote excellence in teaching, research, and community engagement across borders.
Representing Pampanga State University were Dr. Mildred M. Crisostomo, Director of the Office for International Partnerships and Programs; Dr. Riza B. Lintag, Dean of the College of Education; and Assoc. Prof. Julius Ceazar G. Tolentino, Area Chairperson of the Bachelor of Physical Education, Bachelor of Culture and Arts Education, and Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Sports Sciences programs. Their participation reaffirmed the University's commitment to expanding global linkages that enrich academic programs and provide students with meaningful international learning opportunities.
The forthcoming Gymnastics for All Seminar-Workshop is expected to strengthen the competencies of BPEd and BSESS students while serving as a catalyst for deeper institutional collaboration among Pampanga State University, Hiroshima Cosmopolitan University, and Lyceum of the Philippines UniversityโManila.
