The Pampanga State University - School of Law was awarded fourth place in the GADtimpala 2025 and a special citation for its Degendered Tenth Legal Mission: "Serbisyong Legal Para sa Karapatan at Kapakanan ng Lahat," during the 2025 End Violence Against Women (EVAW) Campaign Culminating Program, held today, December 12, 2025, at the University Gymnasium.

The GADtimpala is a prestigious recognition bestowed upon offices, units, campuses, and colleges for their exemplary efforts and merits achieved during the 18-day campaign to End Violence Against Women (EVAW).

This award is a testament to the collective and dedicated efforts of the following individuals and groups:

⦁ Ms. Katherine M. Navarro, Gender and Development Focal Point System Coordinator.
⦁ The Legal Aid Clinic and its CLEP Director, Atty. Rowena S. Cunanan-Mundo.

The School of Law is greatly motivated by this recognition to further intensify its campaign for a VAW-Free Philippines. While the 18-day campaign has officially concluded, the advocacy of the School of Law remains strong and steadfast.

[Repost] Empowering Communities: PamSU School of Law LSG Leads Webinar 2025

Pampanga State University School of Law—through the Law Student Government—successfully held an impactful and insightful webinar focused on strengthening community response and rescue mechanisms for women experiencing abuse on December 5, 2025 5:30 - 7:00PM via zoom. With over 150 participants, the session provided a deep and meaningful discussion on the types of abuse handled by DSWD, the process of seeking help, interagency coordination, and the challenges faced by responders such as underreporting, limited access to services, and the emotional toll on social workers.

The program flowed smoothly under the hosting of LSG President Liberty S. Apuyan. Opening remarks were delivered by LSG Treasurer Queenie Angelica Ocampo, leading into the introduction of the guest speaker by LSG Secretary Angelica Marie M. Cunanan. The main talk of Ms. Rhoda Y. Capulong ran from 5:45 PM to 6:40 PM, after which a Q&A session and the awarding of the Certificate of Recognition were conducted. A heartfelt message from Atty. Maria Roldeliza Laus followed, before proceeding to the GAD pose and picture taking, a short raffle, and the closing message and acknowledgment once again led by LSG Secretary Angelica Marie M. Cunanan.

We extend our deepest gratitude to our OIC-Dean, Atty. Regina S. Salonga, LL.M. and the school admins Ms. Kaye Mandap-Navarro and Ms. Ann Nicasio-Payuyao for their continuous guidance and support in championing GAD initiatives within the School of Law. We also sincerely thank the faculty of Pampanga State University – Sto. Tomas Campus headed by Dr. Jovita G. Rivera for their unwavering support, presence, and partnership in this advocacy. 𝐈𝐧𝐚 𝐚𝐤𝐨, 𝐤𝐚𝐲𝐚 𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐚 𝐚𝐤𝐨!

On the first day of the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women and Children, Ms. Rhoda Y. Capulong—law student and registered social worker—represented the Pampanga State University – School of Law as a resource speaker in a training for mothers on Disaster Preparedness. The program, titled “Inang Handa,” was organized by the Bacolor Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office.

In her session on Women Supporting Women Empowered by Law, Ms. Capulong stressed that it is not enough for victims to know that their rights have been violated; they must also be equipped with the legal knowledge to identify the appropriate actions and remedies available to them.

She discussed Republic Act No. 9710 (Magna Carta of Women) and Republic Act No. 9262 (Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004), highlighting the specific legal protections these laws provide.

Empowered with this information, the mothers left the training assured that the laws of the Philippines protect their rights, their dignity, and their safety.

On November 25, 2025, the Pampanga State University – School of Law joined the entire university community in the kick-off parade of the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women and Children, which runs until December 12, 2025. The School of Law reaffirmed its unwavering stand against all forms of abuse by walking in solidarity and raising awareness on this vital advocacy.

Two meaningful initiatives highlighted this commitment: the specially designed campaign T-shirts, spearheaded by Atty. Regina S. Salonga, LL.M., OIC-Dean, and the GAD Corner thoughtfully created by the Law Student Government under the guidance of their adviser, Atty. Maria Roldeliza G. Laus.

Through these efforts, the School of Law calls on the entire community to take an active role in creating a society where women are safe, valued, empowered, and free from violence.
