Our son was diagnosed with autism at the age of three. As parents, we were faced with many questions, uncertainties, and challenges. There were days when the experience felt overwhelming, but we chose to trust in God’s plan for his life. We recognized that while we place our trust in God for the outcome, it is also our responsibility to do everything within our capacity to help him reach his full potential.

Our journey was not easy. We engaged in one-on-one interventions, small group instruction, occupational therapy, and transitioned through various educational settings. Each stage presented its own challenges, yet each also provided valuable learning experiences and brought us closer to where we are today.

Today, witnessing him confidently stand before his school during the flag ceremony and share the school vision was a meaningful milestone worth celebrating. While it may appear to be a simple moment to others, for our family it represents significant progress.

Progress does not happen overnight. It requires patience, faith, consistency, and the support of many individuals who believed in him throughout the journey.

To parents walking a similar path, do not lose hope. Celebrate every small victory, for one day you will look back and realize that these small steps led to something truly remarkable.
