History does not always arrive in the form of grand speeches and dates etched into textbooks. Sometimes, it survives quietlyโin stories passed from one generation to another, in photographs kept in old drawers, in names written on fading pages, and in the memories of people who lived through moments that changed the country forever.
And sometimes, history becomes uncomfortable.
Because remembering is not simply looking backward. It is confronting what happened, listening to the voices that remain, and recognizing that the past does not disappear merely because time has moved forward.
The Martial Law period remains a significant chapter in Philippine historyโone marked not only by political upheaval, but by experiences of ordinary Filipinos whose lives were shaped by the realities of that period. The Commission on Human Rights has likewise emphasized the importance of remembering this history and its human-rights lessons.
Yet with every passing year comes another question:
๐๐๐๐ฉ ๐ฌ๐๐ก๐ก ๐ฌ๐ ๐ง๐๐ข๐๐ข๐๐๐ง?

This September, ๐๐ถ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐๐ฟ๐ฐ๐ต๐ถ๐๐ฒ๐: ๐๐ฒ๐๐๐ผ๐ป๐ ๐ช๐ฒ ๐ ๐๐๐ ๐ก๐ฒ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐๐ผ๐ฟ๐ด๐ฒ๐ transforms the Coliseum Lobby into a space for memory, reflection, and conversation. Visit the ๐๐ฒ๐ฝ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐๐บ๐ฒ๐ป๐ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐๐ฑ๐๐ผ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ ๐ฃ๐ฟ๐ผ๐ด๐ฟ๐ฎ๐บ๐' and ๐ฃ๐ผ๐น๐ถ๐๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐น ๐ฆ๐ฐ๐ถ๐ฒ๐ป๐ฐ๐ฒ ๐ฆ๐ผ๐ฐ๐ถ๐ฒ๐๐'s booth to interact with their ๐๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฒ๐ฑ๐ผ๐บ ๐ช๐ฎ๐น๐น aptly named "๐ข๐ป๐ฒ ๐ช๐ผ๐ฟ๐ฑ. ๐ข๐ป๐ฒ ๐ง๐ต๐ผ๐๐ด๐ต๐. ๐ช๐ต๐ฎ๐ ๐๐ผ๐บ๐ฒ๐ ๐๐ผ ๐ ๐ถ๐ป๐ฑ ๐ช๐ต๐ฒ๐ป ๐ฌ๐ผ๐ ๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฟ ๐ ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐๐ถ๐ฎ๐น ๐๐ฎ๐", as well as interactive activity "๐ ๐ฃ๐ฎ๐๐ ๐ข๐๐ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐ฃ๐น๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ฒ: ๐ ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐๐ถ๐ฎ๐น ๐๐ฎ๐ ๐๐ฑ๐ถ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป" that sets to challenge the notions that the current generation has about what happened during Martial Law, commemorating the sacrifices that enables us to enjoy the freedom we enjoy today by advocates of change before us.
From ๐ฆ๐ฒ๐ฝ๐๐ฒ๐บ๐ฏ๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐ฎ๐ฎโ๐ฎ๐ฑ, ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ฎ๐ฒ, step into an interactive archive where history is not simply read, it is encountered.
Write the first thought that comes to mind when you hear "๐๐ข๐ณ๐ต๐ช๐ข๐ญ ๐๐ข๐ธ". Piece together events scattered across time. Listen to stories. Examine historical materials. Encounter the experiences of those who lived through the period. And perhaps, somewhere between one memory and another, discover that history is not as distant as it first appears.
Because a nationโs memory is not built only from what is written down.
It is built from
The past has already happened.
But what we learn from it is still being written.

Listen carefully.
Remember deliberately.
