🐟 𝘿𝙞𝙙 𝙔𝙤𝙪 𝙆𝙣𝙤𝙬 𝙖𝙗𝙤𝙪𝙩 "𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙋𝙞𝙠𝙚 𝙎𝙮𝙣𝙙𝙧𝙤𝙢𝙚"?

This behavioral experiment perfectly demonstrates a psychological phenomenon known as 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗛𝗲𝗹𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀. When a predatory pike is placed in an aquarium with baitfish but separated by a clear glass partition, it repeatedly lunges for food, only to hit the invisible barrier. Eventually, after numerous painful failures, the pike completely stops trying.

The real twist happens when scientists completely remove the glass. Even though the baitfish swim freely right in front of its mouth with nothing stopping it, the pike refuses to attack. It has been conditioned to believe that trying will only lead to pain, so it chooses starvation over trying again.

Thank you so much, Sir Jerson M. Estoya!

These pre-service pins are extra special because they were created by an educator himself. Knowing that a fellow teacher designed them adds deeper meaning, as they represent not just our identity as future educators but also the passion and dedication of someone who truly understands the profession.🤍
