The School of Architecture, Fine Arts and Interior Design (ARFIEN) of La Consolacion College Bacolod unveiled a striking showcase of scale models featuring iconic works of Asian architecture during a “lights-on” ceremony held Dec. 11, 2025, at the Santa Monica lobby.
The exhibit highlights the craftsmanship and creative discipline of Architecture, Fine Arts and Interior Design students who drew inspiration from landmark structures across Asia. The showcase includes meticulously crafted scale models representing traditional and contemporary architectural achievements, alongside additional Fine Arts outputs in painting, illustration, and mixed media.
The event marked a milestone for the school as it continues to advance experiential and studio-based learning in design education.
“This showcase reflects the commitment, perseverance and growing mastery of our students,” said Dr. Vincent Raymund Alovera, dean of ARFIEN. “It represents not only their technical skills but also their deepening appreciation of Asia’s cultural and architectural heritage. We are proud to present their work to the LCC community and the public.”
Faculty members, students, and guests gathered to witness the ceremonial illumination of the models, symbolizing the students’ role in shaping future landscapes through design, imagination, and cultural awareness.
The exhibit will remain open for viewing at the Santa Monica lobby.

"A humble resource shared today can shape the academic journeys of many tomorrow. Book donations strengthen our community of learners and educators, expand access to knowledge, and foster a culture of continuous learning."🌟📖📚🏆🎖️
La Consolacion College Bacolod and Libacao College of Science and Technology (LCST) strengthened their academic and community engagement initiatives through a Memorandum of Agreement signing and book donation turnover ceremony held December 11 at LCC Bacolod.
The event opened with a program featuring administrators, faculty, and representatives from both institutions. Dr. Christian Angelo B. Ituriaga, dean of the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management, welcomed guests and emphasized the importance of collaboration in expanding learning opportunities for students and communities.
Dr. Penny V. Sanchez, associate dean for Academic Affairs, presented the rationale of the partnership, highlighting the shared commitment of both institutions to Education, Service-Learning, and capacity-building. The MOA formalizes LCC Bacolod’s provision of service-learning projects, benchmarking activities, training programs, seminars, and library resource support for LCST, whose faculty and students will actively participate in the initiatives.
Following the MOA signing, LCC Bacolod formally turned over a collection of books to LCST. The presentation was led by librarian Ms. Jimiveve A. Tamon, with Sr. Irene M. Bancolo, OSA, vice president for Finance and General Services, and Ms. Bernadette T. Tupas, head of Community Outreach, handing over the donations on behalf of the institution.
LCST President Dr. Griselda C. Quintana expressed their gratitude, noting that the partnership will enhance academic development and provide opportunities for sustainable growth in the LCST community.
In her closing remarks, Dr. Romela R. Aujero, LCC Bacolod vice president for Administration and Academic Affairs, reaffirmed the college’s commitment to inclusive education and community service.
The collaboration is set to run for two years and may be renewed upon mutual agreement. Both institutions cited the initiative as a significant step toward expanding access to quality education and strengthening inter-institutional cooperation.

On this blessed day, we join the entire Church in celebrating the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary—a mystery that speaks not only of Mary’s purity, but of God’s boundless love and His desire to draw humanity back to Himself.
The Immaculate Conception reveals the truth that God prepares, forms, and accompanies those He calls. From the first moment of her existence, Mary was preserved from sin so she could become the vessel of God’s saving grace. Her life reminds us that holiness is not an impossible dream, but a daily journey of openness to God’s will.
For us LCCians, Mary’s “Yes” is a model of what it means to be educators, leaders, learners, and servants formed in the Augustinian tradition.
Her humility teaches us to listen.
Her purity calls us to integrity.
Her courage inspires us to stand firm in truth.
And her motherhood reminds us that faith is lived not in isolation, but in community.
In a world filled with noise, division, and uncertainty, Mary shows us the beauty of a heart anchored in God. She invites us to become bearers of hope—people who radiate compassion, wisdom, and Consolation to others.
As the patroness of the Augustinian Sisters of Our Lady of Consolation, may Mary continue to guide our institution toward deeper faith, stronger unity, and unwavering commitment to service. Like her, may we allow God’s grace to shape our decisions, our work, and our mission.
May this solemnity renew in every LCCian the desire to walk with Christ, to love with compassion, and to serve with joy—so that in all things, we may become instruments of God’s grace in the world.
Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us.
Our Lady of Consolation, lead us ever closer to your Son.

The book, “Mga Piling Register ng Teknikal na Salitang Ginagamit sa Panahon ng COVID-19: Bilang Leksikal na Elaborasyon ng Wikang Filipino” (ISBN 978-621-8167-99-5), is the product of extensive thesis work in the Linguistics course. It documents and analyzes technical terms that emerged during the COVID-19 pandemic and examines their role in the continuing lexical elaboration of the Filipino language.
The authors are Elirey C. Asegurado, LPT, MAED; Carla Marie E. Delfin, LPT, MAED; Beverly L. Deque, LPT, MAED; and Edna D. Fregil, LPT, PhD. The cover illustration was created by Ernie P. Graduate School officials described the publication as a significant achievement for the MAED-Filipino program, noting that it not only explains pandemic-related terminology but also contributes to the enrichment of the national language. The launch also underscored the dedication of graduate students and faculty to producing meaningful research that supports national knowledge-building.
The release forms part of LCCB’s continued efforts to elevate scholarship and promote Filipino as a dynamic and evolving language.
