Learning, Sharing, and Growing Together at CRAIN Bacolod! 📚✨

Last September 2–5, we welcomed teachers from CRAIN Biñan (T. RV and T. Tasha) and CRAIN Pasig (T. Roberta and T. Vic) for a meaningful exchange of knowledge and experiences on reading intervention. They shared valuable insights and best practices with the CRAIN Bacolod teachers, fostering collaboration and continuous professional growth.

CRAIN Bacolod teachers also presented cases from their teaching experiences for discussion. Through these case discussions, the team exchanged insights, shared effective practices, and offered suggestions to further strengthen teaching and learning strategies.

We also took the opportunity to hold case conferences for some of our students. Facilitated by Dr. Iris Bettina Echaus, Developmental Pediatrician, and attended by teachers and therapists, the conferences focused on developing a collaborative and aligned approach to addressing the diverse learning needs of our students.

We are grateful for these opportunities to learn from one another, share our experiences, and work together toward more responsive and effective learning support for our students. 💙

Welcome to the team, Teacher Coleen!

Let’s Welcome Teacher Coleen from CRAIN Bacolod!

Teacher Coleen graduated in De La Salle University Bacolod with a Bachelor’s degree in Arts major in Psychology. She is a licensed Psychometrician.

Ever since she was a kid, she has loved to read books and even get inspired to write some literary pieces on her own. In her free time, aside from reading and writing, she usually dive into different activities like watching movies, playing games, and traveling somewhere to spend time with family or friends.

Teacher Ruby of CRAIN Bacolod had the opportunity to meet the wonderful parents of the Grade 2 students of Andres Bonifacio Elementary School 1 last February 23, 2026.

As part of CRAIN Bacolod’s commitment to supporting young learners, Teacher Ruby—in partnership with the University of St. La Salle—worked with 4th Year Communication Arts student Reynalie Princess S. Esquerida, who conducted a session through her advocacy project “Booklad.” The talk, “Helping Grade 2 Children Love Reading at Home: Supporting Filipino Families in a Digital Age,” focused on practical ways families can nurture strong reading habits despite the challenges of gadgets, busy schedules, and daily routines.

Grateful for the engaged parents who are committed to raising young readers at home. When families and schools work hand in hand, children truly thrive.

Building the bridge from sounds to sentences! 📝✨

This is 𝑺𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝑫𝒊𝒄𝒕𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏, a vital step in helping students move from individual letter sounds to confident writing. We practiced:

Phoneme-Grapheme Mapping: Connecting sounds to letters.

Heart Words: Mastering tricky words like "the" and "to."

Concepts of Print: Nailing those capital letters and periods!

Our student successfully wrote: "Beth will go to the pen to feed the pets." Great progress in turning phonics into real-world communication!
