As Academic Year 2026–2027 officially began, the College of Education (COEd) opened its doors with a warm, heartfelt welcome—bringing together new and returning students in a celebration of connection, shared purpose, and collective strength. Held on August 6, 2026, at 3:30 PM, at the Bacolod City College Activity Center, the event marked not just a welcome, but the promising start of a year built on unity, care, and readiness.

Presided over by Dr. Reyan Ballaso, Dean of the College of Education, the program featured an inspiring message from COEd Governor Rj Amar, followed by the formal introduction of student officers—including the dedicated teams of BCC Medics and NSTP officers.

More than a welcome assembly, this gathering stood upon the very values that guide BCC‑SDRRMU: unity, preparedness, and collective resilience. It was designed to strengthen the bond among every COEd student, nurture active participation, and build a community that stands ready to support one another in every season. Regardless of the degree program each COEDUKADOS pursues, all belong to one family—strong, caring, and prepared.

When an unexpected challenge arose during the program, the spirit of readiness shone through. Supported by the vigilance of our officers, the quick response of BCC Medics, and the steady presence of NSTP, the event was carried through smoothly and concluded triumphantly. A beautiful reminder: when we stand together, we are ready for anything.

𝗛𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗟𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧𝗦 | The BCC-SDRRMU, together with fellow student organizations such as NSTP-CWTS, MEDICS, and other campus organizations, proudly fulfilled its duty in ensuring the safety, security, and preparedness of students, faculty, staff, and participants throughout the CBOA Opening Salvo: “Gateway to Greatness” held at the Activity Center.

‎The event opened with a lively parade, introducing the deans, program heads, and academic organizations, followed by the prayer and Philippine National Anthem. The program continued with the welcome remarks of 𝗗𝗿. 𝗠𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗲 𝗠. 𝗖𝘂𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗮, 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲 𝗗𝗲𝗮𝗻, the CBOA Drum and Bugle performance, messages from the different program heads, and exciting performances from the student organizations and CBOA officers.

‎The morning program also featured the Roll Call of Courses—Marketing Management, Entrepreneurship, and Office Administration—followed by the message of 𝗖𝗕𝗢𝗔 𝗚𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗼𝗿 𝗝𝗼𝗻𝗮𝘄𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗚. 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗼𝘃𝗮, performances from the CBOA Council, and a photo opportunity.

‎The celebration continued with a special performance by Angeline Rodriguez, video program presentations from PASOA, JPMA, and JPES, and interactive activities that brought energy and camaraderie among the participants.
‎
‎The afternoon was filled with fun and excitement through various games, including Action Relay, The Boat Is Sinking, Trio Jerusalem, and Bato-Bato Pick, with Entrepreneurship and Office Administration teams showcasing their teamwork and competitive spirit. The program also featured a special performance from the CBOA Sayawit performer, before the closing remarks of 𝗗𝗿. 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗿 𝗬. 𝗔𝘇𝘂𝗰𝗲𝗻𝗮, 𝗕𝗦𝗕𝗔 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗱.

‎Throughout the entire celebration—from the opening parade to the final activity—the BCC-SDRRMU remained vigilant and ready, providing safety and security assistance to help ensure a smooth, organized, and enjoyable event for everyone. 🫡

‎The BCC-SDRRMU team brought energy and enthusiasm to the celebration through an exciting chant and creative skit that showcased who we are as an organization—our commitment to Disaster Risk Reduction and Management, preparedness, teamwork, volunteerism, and service to the BCC community.

‎From the energetic cheers to the meaningful presentation, our members proved that being part of BCC-SDRRMU is more than just responding during emergencies—it is about being prepared, working together, and serving with heart.

‎We also celebrate the participation of the different BCC student organizations, each showcasing their own identity, talents, and advocacies through their booths and presentations. Together, we make the BCC community stronger, more vibrant, and united.

‎The Bacolod City College Student Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Unit (BCC-SDRRMU) actively participated in the NSTP Orientation and BCC-SDRRMU Member Recruitment, welcoming students and introducing them to the importance of disaster preparedness, safety, security, and community involvement.
‎
‎The orientation provided students with valuable information about the different NSTP components, the objectives and responsibilities of the SDRRMU, and the opportunities available for students who wish to become part of the BCC-SDRRMU family. Through this initiative, students were encouraged to develop a strong sense of responsibility, preparedness, volunteerism, and service to the college community.
