Tutugma ang ating inaasam-asam sa pag-inog ng sanlibutan, kung saan mahigit sa sampung libo ang patuloy na naghahangad, ang apat na sulok ng silid: hinding-hindi mapipinid.

Sa araw na ito, taong 1902, opisyal na nagbukas ang mga pintuan ng Negros Occidental High School para sa mga mag-aaral na may pangarap at mithiin na ninanais na mahugis sa tulong ng mga tagapagsanay na bukas-palad upang maglingkod.

Bagama't may mga balakid sa aspeto ng edukasyon, ang paglawak ng institusyon bilang simbolo ng pagpupunyagi ang isang patunay na kasintibay ng mga gusaling nakatayo ang katatagan at tasahang pakikipagkapwa ng mga estudyante.

Aangkla para ipakita ang presensiya ang mga 'di mapapagod na bisig, ngiting ninanamnam ang sigasig, at kahit aatras sa pagkaligalig, ang 'Probinsyal Hayskul' ang naging daan upang ang isang NOHSian — iiral sa pagtindig.

Sa katotohanan, kawastuhan, at kabaitan mapagmalaking nakikibaka sa karunungan at kahusayang inukit, bawat yapak na tinatahak para sa bagong mundong sinasabak, kahandaan laging tinitiyak. Sama-samang bubuksan ang panibagong pahina at magbabalik-tanaw sa limbagan ng kasaysayang nakaukit sa mga gusaling binansagan. Kapit-bisig at sabay-sabay nating tatahakin ang isang daan tungo sa isang daan at dalawampu't isa.
