๐ฆ๐ฒ๐ฝ๐๐ฒ๐บ๐ฏ๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐ญ๐ต, ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ฎ๐ฒ โ At exactly 0650H, the sixth week of instruction and formation of the National Service Training Program (NSTP) commenced at the STI West Negros University (STIWNU) Football Field, bringing together cadets from the Reserve Officersโ Training Corps (ROTC), Civic Welfare Training Service (CWTS), and Literacy Training Service (LTS) led by Trng Officer Sgt Neil T Jucal, accompanied by C1CL DIANNE T DEOCADEZ.
The morning formation and convocation started with an opening prayer led by Pastor Nathan Paul Acha from the Tribe of Jesus, followed by the singing of the Philippine National Anthem and the STI Hymn. Thereafter, the cadets participated in a Zumba activity that promotes physical fitness and camaraderie. Upon completion of the morning activities, cadets proceeded to their respective training areas to conduct their scheduled activities and discussions.
At 0730H, regular cadets from the ROTC proceeded to the University's Student Activity Center (SAC) for a drug education seminar in coordination with the university's ROTC unit, under the leadership of NSTP Head LTC Rey T Eslabon (CoP) RES, PA. The seminar, themed "Dangerous Drugs: Understanding Drug Addiction and the Choices that Shape Your Future," was led by Sgt Jean Paul C Generoso RES, PA and concluded at 0900H. Afterward, cadets were taught basic military drill commands, including marching movements and precise responses.
Meanwhile, ROTC cadets composed of Military Police (MP) and Cadet Officers Candidate Course (COCC) received instruction on followership focused on military courtesy and discipline, delivered by Pvt Ryan Dominic Cuales (Res) PA and Pvt Kristian Dominik Jimenez (Res) PA. The session continued with a combined lecture and practical demonstration on the assembly and disassembly of the M16 rifle, conducted by TSg Joel S Asis (Inf) PA, equipping the cadets with both theoretical knowledge and hands-on technical skills.
Furthermore, cadets under the Literacy Training Service (LTS) and Civic Welfare Training Service (CWTS) component, which focused on community awareness and civic responsibility, were tasked to create a Community Action Plan, identifying their community's common problems and proposing a simple project to address one of these needs. On the other hand, cadets under CWTS discussed civic responsibility and the role of youth in driving positive change through the responsible use of technology and social media to raise awareness and support community activities.
The formation concluded at 1000H, wrapping up a productive day for the cadets.
