Luisa Medel National High School Luisa Medel NHS is a model Child-friendly High School in Bacolod City, which is also BEST in BRIGADA First Established as Tangub High School in the year 1967. T.

It was materialized through the efforts of Barangay Captain Daniel Espanilla, Councilor Jose Y. Hilado and Mayor Romeo Guanzon. Freshmen class started with two sections handled by two young graduates, Ms. Teofila T. Arlesano (now Mrs. Nessia) and Ms. Benedecta Maaslum. The pioneer teachers were guided by Abadessa Lobaton, principal of Don Rodolfo A. Medel S. Elementary School. In the year 1971 Tangub High School had its first graduates. The school's name was changed to Doña Luisa Medel High School under its first principal Mrs. Rita L. Jimenez. Present day Luisa Medel National High School is captained by its new principal Mrs. Gladys Amylaine D. Sales, leading LMNHS to greater heights.

LMNHS Holds Card Giving, Portfolio Day for Term 1

September 18, 2026—Parents and guardians came to school and proceeded to their child’s respective classroom for the Term 1 Card Giving and Portfolio Day of School Year 2026-2027.

The event, held at 1:00 PM, allowed families to review their children’s report cards and academic portfolios directly with section counselors.

Teachers were on hand to walk parents through each learner’s performance, discuss areas for improvement, and answer questions ahead of Term 2.

LMNHS continues to strengthen home-school partnerships with parents/guardians through regular, face-to-face engagements like this, ensuring they stay informed and involved in their children’s academic progress.

Congratulations to all students for your hard work and dedication in completing Term 1. See you in Term 2.

Isang malaking tagumpay para sa Luisa Medel National High School matapos makasungkit ng puwesto sa Top 6 ang TV Newscasting Team ng The Trap – English Publication sa katatapos lamang na Division Schools Press Conference (DSPC) 2027 Elimination Round.

Binuo ang koponan nina Shakirah Valera, French Legaspi, Juliana Marzan, Trisha Abuan, Andrey Garzon, Daniela Gromea, at Justin Angelo Montaño, na buong husay na kinatawan ang paaralan sa kompetisyon.

Samantala, sumabak din sa elimination round ang Radio Broadcasting Team ng The Trap. Bagama’t hindi nakapasok sa Top 5, nananatiling matatag ang kanilang paglalakbay sa pamamahayag.

Muling maglalaban ang anim na koponang nangunguna sa kompetisyon sa Setyembre 9, 2026, sa Andres Bonifacio Elementary School 1, para sa huling pagkakataong makamit ang puwesto sa susunod na yugto ng kompetisyon.

Higit pa rito, ipinagmamalaki rin ng koponan ang kanilang tagapagsanay na si G. Elmer Jr. F. De Leon, na patuloy na gumagabay at humuhubog sa kanilang talento sa larangan ng pamamahayag.

LMNHS Teachers Receive Lapel From DepEd

Bacolod City, August 10, 2026 — Teachers of Luisa Medel National High School each received a lapel voice amplifier from the Department of Education (DepEd) through the Schools Division of Bacolod City at a turnover ceremony held at the LMNHS Gym.

The lapel is designed to help Medelian teachers project their voice clearly during lessons, easing the strain of daily instruction and long hours in the classroom.

The turnover forms part of DepEd’s continuing effort to equip teachers with tools that support effective teaching.

LMNHS thanked DepEd for this timely gift to its teaching force.

PNP-BCPO 8 CONDUCTS CRIME PREVENTION SIMULATION EXERCISE AT LMNHS

On July 8, 2026, Wednesday, the Philippine National Police Bacolod City Police Office Station 8 initiated a Crime Prevention Simulation Exercise at Luisa Medel National High School, in coordination with the School Administration, DepEd SDO Bacolod City, Barangay Social Workers, City DRRMO, and concerned citizensa and volunteers.

Amid rampant reports of school-related violence in the news, this drill aimed to prepare our students and school community to respond calmly and effectively in case of real emergencies.

The video shows a simulated crime scenario outside the school, the police response, and the intervention made.

A lecturette followed, guiding students on what to do and prepare during emergencies. PNP emphasized the importance of the 911 hotline for immediate coordination.

Thank you, PNP Station 8 and all partner agencies, for this initiative in keeping our school community safe.

OFFICIAL STATEMENT FROM LUISA MEDEL NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL

Dear Parents, Guardians, and Members of the School Community,

We understand that many of you have concerns following a threatening message recently sent to our official page. We want to assure you that the safety and well-being of our students, teachers, and staff remain our top priority, and we are taking this matter seriously.

Here is what has been done so far:

1. The incident was immediately reported to and investigated by the Bacolod City Police Office, Police Station 8.
2. Police personnel conducted an on-site inspection and security assessment of the school premises.
3. The case has been formally referred to the Regional Anti-Cybercrime Unit (RACU) for digital forensic investigation to identify the person responsible.
4. Additional police visibility has been deployed in and around the school to enhance security.
5. School administration is coordinating closely with law enforcement throughout the investigation, and appropriate charges will be filed once the person responsible is identified.

We know news like this can be worrying, and we want to thank our parents and guardians for your trust and patience as authorities do their work. Please be assured that classes and school activities will continue under increased security measures.

If your child feels anxious or has any concerns, our guidance office remains available to provide support. We also encourage parents to talk with their children, reassure them, and remind them to immediately report anything unusual to a teacher, guidance counselor, or school administrator.

We will continue to coordinate with the Philippine National Police and will provide updates as appropriate. Thank you for your understanding and continued partnership in keeping our school community safe.

LMNHS Holds 1st General PTA Assembly

June 26, 2026 — Luisa Medel National High School successfully conducted its 1st General PTA Assembly, bringing together parents and guardians in support of stronger home-school partnership.

The program opened with a prayer, followed by the Nationalistic Song, Welcome Remarks from outgoing SPTA President Mr. Jose Alain E. Cañada, and a message from OIC-Principal James Z. Gayondato. SPTA Treasurer Mrs. Mary Grace I. Denaga then presented the Financial Report, which was approved by the body. The assembly concluded with the closing remarks of Mrs. Relita V. Torrepineda.

Parents then proceeded to their respective classrooms for the Homeroom PTA Orientation, followed by the election of the Grade Level PTA Officers and the new School Parents-Teachers Association (SPTA) Officers for School Year 2026–2027.

The school extends its sincere appreciation to all parents for their active participation and congratulates the newly elected SPTA officers.
