In observance of Su***de Prevention Month, the University of St. La Salle hosted the “RACE Against Su***de Gatekeepers’ Training” on September 29 at the Miguel Lobby.

Featuring resource speaker Dr. Calvin Dave Depra Ganub and the Unilab Foundation’s RACE Toolkit, the workshop equipped participants with practical skills to spot early warning signs of self-harm and foster campus care.

Organized by the Vice Chancellor for Mission and Development and USLS-GAD, in partnership with GEC and HRDS.

On September 28, 2026, the USLS community gathered at the USLS Chapel for a Prayer and Candle Lighting Ceremony for World Su***de Prevention Month 2026, anchored on the theme “Changing the Narrative on Su***de” and “Start the Conversation.”

Organized by the Guidance and Evaluation Center (GEC), GEC Bridge Peer Facilitators, and USLS Gender and Development (GAD), the event brought together GEC counselors, GAD members and their moderator, alongside students from Liceo de La Salle and the Nursing Department.

Together, as candles were lit and prayers offered, we renewed our commitment to break the stigma, foster compassion, and ensure no Lasallian walks alone. Let’s keep checking in on one another and starting conversations that save lives. 💚✨

In observance of World Su***de Prevention Month, the USLS Guidance and Evaluation Center, GEC Bridge Peer Facilitators, and USLS Gender and Development are coming together in prayer, reflection, and solidarity.

Let us break the stigma and rewrite the story around mental health. Through this year’s theme, “Changing the Narrative on Su***de,” we carry forward the call to action: “Start the Conversation.”
