We’ve conquered prelims, powered through midterms, and pushed past pre-finals—growing stronger with every challenge. Now, we stand at the finish line of our first semester… and we’re not backing down. 💪

Student Leaders from 𝗝𝗙𝗜𝗡𝗘𝗫 and 𝗝𝗠𝗘𝗫 were invited to watch the set A out of 2 sets featuring these four films 𝗧𝗢𝗡𝗧𝗢𝗡, 𝗧𝗿𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗗𝗮𝗿𝗲, 𝗧𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴, and 𝗕𝗮𝗹𝗮𝘆 𝗔𝗹𝗶𝗯𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗯𝗮𝗻𝗴—are featured in the 𝟮𝗻𝗱 𝗕𝗮𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗱 𝗙𝗶𝗹𝗺 𝗙𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱, at 𝗔𝘆𝗮𝗹𝗮 𝗠𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗖𝗮𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗼𝗹 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗹 last saturday 𝗡𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟵, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱. Which celebrates the theme “𝗣𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗻-𝗮𝘄: 𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘀, 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲.” Each story brings to light the raw, emotional, and sometimes harsh realities of life in Bacolod and the Negros region, from online debates about local foods and carnival dates filled with honesty games, to the struggles of early pregnancy facing rejection and the resilience of street kids pursuing their dreams.

"𝗧𝗢𝗡𝗧𝗢𝗡 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗘𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻" Directed by Charlene Mead Tupas, Explores online debates among citizens, sparking discussions about local foods and community issues.

"𝗧𝗿𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗗𝗮𝗿𝗲" Directed by Banjo Hinolan, follows Mia and Adrian as they navigate a carnival date, playing honesty games while concealing truths about their lives, ultimately leading to a memorable dare that leaves a lasting impression.

"𝗧𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗘 𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀" Directed by Dranreb Cimatu, tells the story of a struggles of early pregnancy facing rejection by her boyfriend and family, facing hardship and stress that tragically leads to a miscarriage, followed by a dangerous situation she unknowingly falls into.

Lastly, "𝗕𝗮𝗹𝗮𝘆 𝗔𝗹𝗶𝗯𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗯𝗮𝗻𝗴" Directed by Kyle Ramas, centers on street kids in a market, dealing with gang conflicts before finding refuge in an orphanage, where one boy pursues his dream of making music. Together, these stories highlight struggles, resilience, and the enduring hope found in everyday lives.

The festival showcases the strength and creativity of local filmmakers, highlighting narratives rooted in Bacolodnon identity and lived experiences, and connecting them with broader audiences through cinema.
