PEACE: Powering Empathy, Acceptance, and Connection Everyday was successfully relaunched at Sum-ag National High School on Monday morning, July 6, 2026, reaffirming the school's commitment to fostering a safe, inclusive, and bullying-free learning environment. The activity was also attended by Ms. Glenda G. Cadeliรฑa, EPS โ Quality Assurance Division (QAD), Department of Education โ Negros Island Region (DepEd NIR), who served as the regional monitoring representative.
The activity began with the Flag Ceremony, followed by the Karagatan ng Karapatan audio-visual presentation by Ram Andrew Arrogancia, SSLG Adviser, commemorating the 10th anniversary of the 2016 Arbitral Award that upheld the Philippines' rights under international law in relation to the West Philippine Sea. The presentation highlighted the importance of protecting the country's maritime entitlements and sovereign rights while promoting peace, patriotism, respect for international law, and responsible citizenship.
The program also featured the ROFVAP (Restoration of Filipino Values Program) of the Values Education Department, highlighting the value focus for the week: Word of Honor.
The highlight of the program was the PEACE Advocacy, which featured the PEACE Prayer led by Necee Tresfuentes, followed by the PEACE Rationale delivered by Ms. Yhelyn M. Romarate, Guidance Counselor. The PEACE Rally was spearheaded by Antonette Salmo, SSLG Vice President, inspiring learners to become advocates of empathy, acceptance, and meaningful connections.
Messages of support and inspiration were delivered by Humphrey Miles D. Bayot, SSLG President; Dr. Mae C. Pavilario, Principal IV; Corina C. Guanzon, PSDS Cluster III; Dr. Gregorio C. Moyani Jr., SGOD Chief; and Ms. Glenda G. Cadeliรฑa, EPS โ Quality Assurance Division, DepEd Negros Island Region. Each speaker emphasized the importance of cultivating a culture of peace, respect, inclusivity, and shared responsibility in creating a safe and nurturing learning environment.
The program concluded with the Signing of the PEACE Advocacy Commitment Wall, the Recitation of the Bully-Free Pledge led by Kraig Arquisola, and the Unity Song for PEACE, symbolizing the collective commitment of the school community to promote empathy, acceptance, meaningful connections, and a bullying-free environment every day.
Through the relaunch of the PEACE Program, Sum-ag National High School continues to strengthen its commitment to the Department of Education's Safe Schools Program, empowering learners and stakeholders to become champions of peace, responsible citizenship, and positive change.
