🌊 COASTAL CLEAN-UP FOR CLEANER SEAS & STRONGER COMMUNITIES 🌊

In celebration of IMO World Maritime Day and the Maritime Archipelagic Awareness Month (MANA MO), the Binalbagan Municipal Executive Council (MEC) of the Upsilon Phi Sigma Fraternity and Sorority came together in a meaningful Coastal Clean-Up Activity at Barangay Enclaro, Binalbagan, Negros Occidental.

Representing the Binalbagan MEC was Phi Omega Delta Grand Archon Brod Jayviz Docto, together with the Binalbagan MEC Alumni, led by its Chairman, Brod Darell Villasis.

The activity was spearheaded by the Marine Environmental Protection Unit – Southern Negros Occidental (MEPU-SNOC) of the Philippine Coast Guard, with the participation and support of PCG Himamaylan, PCG Binalbagan, BFP Binalbagan, PNP Binalbagan, MENRO Binalbagan, Barangay Enclaro officials, and the CHMSU NSTP-CWTS/ROTC students, faculty, and staff.

🤝 Different organizations. One mission. One shared responsibility.

Beyond picking up waste along the shoreline, the activity reminds us that protecting our seas begins with collective action and responsible citizenship. Every sack collected represents a small step toward healthier marine ecosystems, cleaner communities, and a more sustainable future.

🌊 UPSILONIANS IN ACTION: ONE MORNING, ONE PURPOSE, ONE COMMUNITY

A Morning of Collaboration, Friendship, and Service

The spirit of Upsilonian brotherhood and sisterhood was truly alive this morning as different Executive Councils and collegiate members came together for a meaningful Coastal Clean-Up Activity in observance of Maritime Week.

The activity was spearheaded by the Pontevedra Municipal Executive Council, through the leadership of Brod Joesepil Capistrano, in collaboration with the La Carlota City Executive Council, through the collegiate students of Phi Mu Chi Chapter under the leadership of Brod Joshua Cadungon; the Isabela Municipal Executive Council, through the collegiate students of Phi Iota Theta Chapter, led by Brod Justin Monotilla; and the Bacolod City Executive Council – Phi Kappa Chapter, UNO-R, led by its Deputy Lady Archon, Sis Angela Nicole Gidaya.

Adding strength and inspiration to the gathering were La Carlota City Chairman Police Corporal Jesril Oxillo Toles and our NOPEC Executive Vice Chairman Brod Felomino Garpa, whose presence further highlighted the importance of unity and collective action in serving our communities.

What made this morning special was not only the work accomplished along the shoreline, but the friendships strengthened, connections renewed, and brotherhood shared beyond chapter and council boundaries.

Different councils. Different chapters. Different communities.

But one Upsilonian spirit.

Today, our members showed that service becomes more meaningful when we work together. The smiles, conversations, shared efforts, and hands working side by side became a living expression of our commitment to Honor, Excellence, and Service.

From Pontevedra to La Carlota, Isabela, and Bacolod, Upsilon Phi Sigma continues to bring people together—not merely to belong, but to serve.
