On ๐๐๐น๐ ๐ญ๐ฑ ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐ญ๐ฒ, ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ฎ๐ฒ, ๐๐ฎ๐๐ฐ๐ต ๐๐ฒ๐๐ต๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฎ officially commenced the first two days of the ๐ฆ๐ธ๐ถ๐น๐น๐ ๐๐ฒ๐๐ฒ๐น๐ผ๐ฝ๐บ๐ฒ๐ป๐ ๐๐ฐ๐๐ถ๐๐ถ๐๐ (๐ฆ๐๐) at the University of Negros OccidentalโRecoletos (UNO-R), marking another milestone in our internship journey by translating endless dreams into hands-on clinical reality.
๐๐ฎ๐ ๐ญ set the foundation as the first sets of interns focused on developing essential laboratory competencies through ๐ฝ๐ต๐น๐ฒ๐ฏ๐ผ๐๐ผ๐บ๐, ๐ฝ๐น๐ฎ๐๐ฒ๐น๐ฒ๐ ๐ฐ๐ผ๐๐ป๐๐ถ๐ป๐ด, ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐ฑ๐ถ๐ณ๐ณ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ป๐๐ถ๐ฎ๐น ๐ฐ๐ผ๐๐ป๐๐ถ๐ป๐ด. These practical exercises were designed to enhance technical skills, reinforce theoretical knowledge, and prepare interns for the responsibilities of the clinical laboratory with precision, confidence, and professionalism.
The momentum remained strong on ๐๐ฎ๐ ๐ฎ as the next groups took their turn at mastering these essential competencies. Delving into the ๐ฑ๐ถ๐ฎ๐ด๐ป๐ผ๐๐ถ๐ ๐ฐ๐ผ๐บ๐ฝ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ถ๐๐ผ๐ป ๐ฏ๐ฒ๐๐๐ฒ๐ฒ๐ป ๐ฎ๐๐๐ผ๐บ๐ฎ๐๐ฒ๐ฑ ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐บ๐ฎ๐ป๐๐ฎ๐น ๐ถ๐ป๐๐๐ฟ๐๐บ๐ฒ๐ป๐๐ through platelet estimation and differential counting, the day's exercises further sharpened the precise technical skills required in the field.
As the first two days come to a close, our dedication only grows stronger. Batch Aetheria looks forward to the upcoming face-to-face biosafety training next week, ready to embrace every challenge and opportunity for growth on the path toward becoming future Registered Medical Technologists. ๐๐ฌ

The University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos Medical Technology (MedTech) incoming interns, Batch Aetheria, participated in a bloodletting training spearheaded by the Negros First Provincial Blood Center (NFPBC), at the University Auditorium, July 15.
This training is a vital pulse in preparation for the actual blood donation drive. It equips us with the essential knowledge, proper procedures, and hands-on skills for future blood drives.
We also want to thank our ever-supportive faculty, clinical instructors, and the NFPBC staff for extending their time and knowledge, as they patiently guide us in this mission.

๐๐๐ญ๐๐ก ๐๐๐ญ๐ก๐๐ซ๐ข๐ successfully navigated recent adverse weather conditions by shifting their Biosafety and Biosecurity Seminar online via Zoom, led by ๐บ๐๐ ๐ฎ๐๐๐๐ ๐ท. ๐บ๐๐๐๐, ๐น๐ด๐ป, ๐ด๐ป (๐จ๐ด๐ป), ๐น๐ต, ๐ด๐จ/๐ป๐ด๐น๐บ, ๐ด๐บ๐ด๐ป, ๐ช๐น๐ฉ, ๐ฑ๐ซ, and guided by Clinical Instructors Miss Kimberly Esquilla, RMT, Miss Alethea Pampora, RMT, Miss Jirah Dacula, RMT, and Miss Edlyn Grace Cabizares, RMT, the seminar aimed to strengthen the core competencies, laboratory safety knowledge, and bio-risk management skills of the incoming interns conducted from ๐๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ฒ ๐โ๐๐, ๐๐๐๐.
The comprehensive virtual workshop delved into the core principles of laboratory safety, risk assessment, and proper infectious waste management. By exploring the theoretical frameworks of biosecurity, the interns were taught how to identify and mitigate biological hazards, ensuring they can maintain a secure environment before ever stepping foot in the physical lab.
"As we prepare for our upcoming internship, the Biosafety and Biosecurity Seminar proved to be incredibly informative," Batch Representative Freia Garbanzos said, noting that it served as an essential guide for their upcoming work in the laboratory.
Garbanzos also emphasized that the speaker, Sir Glenn, was exceptional, adding that the training allowed her to recall past academic concepts and equipped them with a solid foundation on safety protocols.
Armed with this theoretical mastery and a deepened respect for their calling, our interns are now one step closer to translating this knowledge into clinical practice. Their active participation is a testament to Aetheria's dedication to becoming not just skilled interns but deeply responsible healthcare professionals.

โ๏ธKicking off pre-internship activities with Basic Life Support (BLS) training, Batch Aetheria has successfully completed its training session, spearheaded by the Amity Youth Volunteer-Recoletos at the Universityโs former CAMHS office today, July 4, 2026.
โ๏ธ As we go beyond the microscope, we must also be fully equipped with basic first aid knowledge for emergencies. This means recognizing when CPR is needed, knowing the emergency response system, and understanding other principles of BLS. Whether in the safety of the lab or out in the hospital halls, we must carry the skills, the calm, and the heart to keep a life beating.
โ๏ธWe would like to extend our deepest gratitude to our trainers and also to our speaker Miss Kezaiah Bianca Baldago, RMT, who patiently taught us the proper form and procedures for performing Basic Life Support.

We entered this year with a declaration: that As we stepped into the unknown as Medical Technology interns, we carried a hunger for growth.
And grow, we ๐๐๐.
Through every grueling shift, examination, and every moment that tested our resolve, we were climbing. We survived the hardest year of our journey because we remembered who we were โ a batch boldly entering its prime.
We now look out from the peak of this finished chapter. Our initial steps have gracefully led us to graduation, transforming those distant horizons into the reality we live today. We are no longer just stepping into our prime; we are living it.
Thank you to everyone who supported our ascent: the Clinical Instructors, Faculty, the College, our Alma Mater UNO-R, and our families. Finally, the internship was completed, and the degrees have been earned.
Batch Primora, now signing off! ๐๐ฌ RMTs Next.
