"𝐀𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐚 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭."

With this directive, alumna and keynote speaker Dr. Jomeo Sumalapao set the tone for the 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧’𝐬 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐇𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐑𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐬, held the afternoon of April 13, 2026, at Santuario De La Salle. Addressing 𝟕𝟕 𝐏𝐫𝐞-𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬, Dr. Sumalapao framed the teaching profession transcends being a career, standing instead as a commitment to the empathy one once sought as a learner.

The proceedings commenced with a Ceremonial Mass, followed by the event proper. The rites were attended by the College of Education faculty, university directors, and administrators. Also present were representatives from cooperating schools, the institutional partners who facilitated the seniors' field studies and practical trainings.

The awarding segment acknowledged the rigor and performance of the graduating batch. Glennis Steffan was named the Most Outstanding Pre-Service Teacher, representing the highest standard of the cohort’s academic and clinical work. In her response, Steffan drew from her international internship at La Salle Chotiravi Nakhonsawan School in Thailand. She noted that the engagement of her students abroad served as evidence of a fundamental truth in pedagogy: learning is universal.

The commissioning serves as the final bridge between institutional training and the demands of active service. The cohort now moves forward to establish a standard of practice that prioritizes both professional precision and the human element of instruction.

The University of St. La Salle - College of Education honored its 77 pre-service teachers during the 15th Commissioning and Honoring Rites held on April 13 at the Santuario de La Salle, marking their entry into the teaching profession.

Guest speaker Dr. Jomeo Sumalapao discussed the importance of educators in shaping learners and communities while emphasizing the deeper purpose of teaching. The program also recognized academic achievers, including mock board topnotchers, distinguished students, and field study student principals.

Seventy-seven College of Education graduates accepted the mantle of the teaching vocation during the 15th Commissioning and Honoring Rites of Lasallian Pre-Service Teachers held today, April 13.
Special recognition were also given to the topnotchers of the Licensure Examination for Teachers Mockboard, as well as to the outstanding students, and field study student principals from CeD.
