Please be informed, Progresonians.

Pursuant to Executive Order No. 49, classes at all levels in both public and private schools in Bacolod City are suspended today, July 24, 2026. This is upon the recommendation of the Bacolod City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO), following the issuance of DOST-PAGASA Regional Heavy Rainfall Warning No. 1 at 2:00 AM on July 24, 2026, which placed Bacolod City under a Yellow Heavy Rainfall Warning.

In view of the class suspension, schools are encouraged to implement modular distance learning and assign performance tasks and projects to ensure the continuity of learning and the attainment of essential learning competencies.

Pursuant to Executive Order No. 48, classes in ALL LEVELS in both PUBLIC and PRIVATE schools in Bacolod City are SUSPENDED tomorrow, JULY 10, 2026, upon the recommendation of the Bacolod City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO), in line with DOST-PAGASA Regional Weather Forecast for Negros Occidental indicating strong wind and Weather Advisory No. 13 for Tropical Cyclone Inday and the Southwest Monsoon placing the region under Yellow Heavy Rainfall Forecast (50-100mm).
Schools are encouraged to shift to modular distance learning performance tasks and projects to ensure that learning competencies are met.

At Progreso Village National High School, we believe that classrooms should be spaces where learners remain engaged, focused, and actively participate in meaningful learning experiences.

In support of DepEd Order No. 006, s. 2026, the use of portable electronic devices during instructional hours is regulated to minimize distractions while promoting responsible digital citizenship and academic discipline.

To ensure fairness and due process, the following administrative measures shall be observed for learners who use portable electronic devices during class hours:

📱 First Offense
• Temporary confiscation of the device.
• Device will be returned at the end of the subject period.
• A Confiscation Slip shall be issued for proper documentation.

📱 Second Offense
• Temporary confiscation of the device.
• Device will be returned at the end of class hours.
• A Confiscation Slip shall be issued.
• Parents or guardians will be officially notified.

📱 Third and Succeeding Offenses
• The device shall be confiscated and endorsed to the Office of the School Head.
• Proper documentation shall be completed.
• The device may only be claimed by the parent or legal guardian.
• Appropriate disciplinary measures shall be implemented in accordance with school policies and existing DepEd guidelines.

For teaching, teaching-related, and non-teaching personnel, administrative disciplinary actions shall likewise be implemented by the appropriate authorities whenever applicable.

Our school also commits to:
✅ Conducting orientations, advisories, and conferences to ensure that learners and parents fully understand these policies.
✅ Protecting the confidentiality of learners’ personal information and ensuring that confiscated devices and data are handled responsibly and in accordance with established protocols.

Let us remember that these guidelines are not intended to punish, but to cultivate discipline, responsibility, respect, and responsible technology use. By limiting unnecessary gadget use during instructional hours, we create classrooms where attention, participation, and meaningful learning take center stage.

📸🛡️ IMPLEMENTATION OF BAG INSPECTION 🛡️📸

As part of our commitment to maintaining a safe and secure learning environment, Progreso Village National High School has begun the implementation of the Bag Inspection Guidelines in accordance with DepEd Order No. 006, s. 2026.

Prior to its implementation, a letter was sent to parents and guardians to inform them of the school’s safety measures and to seek their support and understanding. The bag inspection process is conducted using authorized, non-contact methods while upholding the rights, dignity, and welfare of every learner.

Together with our parents, learners, and school personnel, we continue to foster a safe, respectful, and child-friendly school community.

Pursuant to Executive Order No. 45, Series of 2026, classes in KINDERGARTEN TO SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL in both public and private schools in Bacolod City are SUSPENDED today, June 24, 2026, upon the recommendation of the Bacolod City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO), due to inclement weather conditions brought about by the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat), as indicated in the Regional Weather Forecast of the DOST-PAGASA issued at 5:00 AM.

Schools are encouraged to shift to modular distance learning performance tasks and projects to ensure that learning competencies are met.
