We proudly showcase our winners in the recent poster-making contest during our freshies moment. Our students have poured their artistic talents in creating wonderful posters, but out of all of them these 5 were the standouts. We congratulate all of the students and we at the guidance office appreciate all their works.

FRESHIES’ MOMENT 2025!🎉
December 10, 2025
Theme: “Future Ready: Igniting Purpose, Passion, and Possibility.”
The CHMSU‑Alijis Office of the Guidance Services, in partnership with the Circle of Peer Facilitators and the BS Psychology Student Interns of the University of Negros Occidental–Recoletos (UNO‑R), proudly held the Freshies’ Moment and Parents Orientation for all first‑year students at the CHMSU Alijis Campus.
This event gathered first-year students to equip them with essential knowledge to navigate college life successfully and inspire them to excel in their academic journey.
With the presence of our esteemed guest speaker, Mr. Lorence Macahilig, students were immersed in meaningful insights as he shared his personal story, valuable lessons, and empowering messages. His words offered motivation, guidance, and encouragement for students to strive toward greater heights.
The Pillars:
1. Principle of Planned Exploration
2. Treat Heartbreak as Breakthrough
3. Follow Your Energy
“These pillars remind students to explore intentionally, embrace setbacks as opportunities for growth, and allow their natural energy to guide their direction. Each experience—whether uplifting or challenging—brings them closer to discovering their true path and purpose.
Your major is only the beginning. It provides direction, but it does not define your entire life. Your true purpose—shaped by your passions, values, and lived experiences—is what ultimately leads you to where you are meant to be. By exploring with intention, learning from challenges, and following what energizes you, every step becomes part of discovering your authentic path and purpose.”

Typhoon “Tino” has left a devastating mark to all of us. More than the physical damages (as houses, buildings, schools, livelihoods were destroyed) it affected us emotionally and psychologically in which for some are mourning the loss of loved ones. Truly, it’s a catastrophe that’s difficult to understand and will take time for us to recover from.
To our dear CHMSU-Alijis students, if you are in need of psychological first aid or emotional support, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us. We are here, your Guidance Counselors, ready and willing to assist you in any way we can.

"𝙃𝙮𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙠 𝙠𝙖 𝙣𝙖 𝙗𝙖?" A Seminar on Maximizing Mental Health Network Through Psychological First-Aid
Carlos Hilado Memorial State University- CHMSU Alijis Covered Court
The CHMSU-Alijis Office of the Guidance Services, in partnership with the Circle of Peer Facilitators and BS Psychology Student Interns of CHMSU-Talisay, proudly held the first PSYCHOLOGICAL FIRST-AID SEMINAR to all 1st year students.
This initiative aimed to empower freshmen with foundational Psychological First Aid (PFA) skills, enabling them to offer empathetic peer support and contribute to a more compassionate and mentally healthy campus environment.
With the guidance of the esteemed guest speaker, 𝙈𝙧. 𝙍𝙤𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙣 𝙅𝙖𝙮 𝙏. 𝙇𝙞𝙗𝙤-𝙤𝙣, 𝙍𝙂𝘾, Guidance Counselor of the Technological University of the Philippines - Visayas (TUP-V), participants delved into the principles of PFA, learning how to recognize signs of distress, provide initial support, and foster resilience within their peer groups. By equipping students with these essential tools, the seminar sought to create a network of support, ensuring that no student feels alone in their journey.
In a world where mental health challenges are increasingly prevalent, initiatives like this play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between awareness and action. By fostering a culture of care and understanding, we can build a campus community where every student feels supported, valued, and connected.

📣PLEASE BE GUIDED.
Keep safe CHMSUans 🙏
Due to ongoing heavy rainfall and potential flooding in various areas of the province, classes at all campuses of CHMSU are suspended on September 18 (Wednesday), 2024.
Faculty members are not required to report to campus but must communicate with their classes regarding independent learning and other alternative learning methods during this period. It is essential to inform students about available options and resources to support their continued education.
Administrative offices will remain operational, and the scheduled ISO internal audit will proceed as planned. Designees, general administrative support services, and job order personnel are expected to report for work unless road conditions are severely affected by flooding or if transportation services are completely disrupted.
Please take note of this advisory and act accordingly.
