The law, authored by then Bacolod Lone District Representative Greg G. Gasataya, declares June 18 as “Bacolod City Charter Day” in commemoration of the signing of the city’s charter.

A day filled with joy and gratitude unfolded at Rodolfo A. Medel Sr. Elementary School as our learners received new school bags and school supplies through the generosity of the Local Government Unit of Bacolod City.

The school community was honored by the presence of 𝙃𝙤𝙣. 𝙈𝙖𝙮𝙤𝙧 𝙂𝙧𝙚𝙜 𝙂𝙖𝙨𝙖𝙩𝙖𝙮𝙖 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙃𝙤𝙣. 𝘽𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙖𝙮 𝘾𝙖𝙥𝙩𝙖𝙞𝙣 𝙉𝙤𝙡𝙞 𝙑𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙖𝙧𝙤𝙨𝙖, whose unwavering support continues to inspire and uplift our learners.

Led by our School Head, Ma’am Maria Fe Toledo, together with Head Teacher III Ma’am Mary Ann Heradura, teachers, staff, and learners, the RAMSES family warmly welcomed our distinguished guests and expressed heartfelt gratitude for this meaningful initiative.

During his message, Mayor Greg shared an inspiring reminder that resonated with everyone:

The halls of Rodolfo A. Medel Sr. Elementary School are once again filled with excitement as we officially open School Year 2026–2027, marking the beginning of another journey of learning, growth, and discovery.

The opening Flag Ceremony was proudly led by our newly elected SELG Officers together with their adviser, Ma’am Jenifer Teruel. During the program, School Principal IV, Ma’am Maria Fe Toledo, warmly welcomed our learners, teachers, and parents. She also introduced the faculty members and their respective grade-level assignments, Non-teaching personnel, as well as the Teacher League Officers and SELG Officers who will serve for this school year.

One of the highlights of the program was the recognition led by School Principal IV Ma’am Maria Fe Toledo for our 2026 𝙋𝙖𝙡𝙖𝙧𝙤𝙣𝙜 𝙋𝙖𝙢𝙗𝙖𝙣𝙨𝙖 𝙢𝙚𝙙𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙨𝙩, 𝙍𝙖𝙟𝙞𝙗 𝘼𝙨𝙝 𝘾𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙣𝙯𝙖, for his outstanding achievement in the recently concluded Palarong Pambansa in Agusan del Sur. His coach, Sir Ronnie Daquilos, was likewise acknowledged for his unwavering support and dedication in guiding him toward this success.

We also extend our sincere gratitude to our Local Government Unit for the school supplies distributed to our learners, whose generosity and support continue to equip our young Medelians for a successful school year. Special thanks to Hon. Mayor Greg and SDO-Bacolod City for their continued commitment to supporting education and empowering our learners.

Rodolfo A. Medel Sr. Elementary School successfully concluded Brigada Eskwela 2026 through a meaningful Closing Program that celebrated the unwavering commitment, generosity, and collaborative efforts of its stakeholders, partners, and volunteers.

The program commenced with solemn and inspiring ceremonies, including the National Anthem, prayer, and welcome messages, reflecting the values of patriotism, faith, unity, and shared responsibility in preparing the school for the opening of classes.

Among the highlights of the event was the distribution of school supplies to selected kindergarten learners through the generosity of the 𝙔𝙪𝙨𝙖𝙮 𝙁𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙙𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣, bringing joy and encouragement to our young learners. Another significant milestone was the turnover of the 𝙎𝙉𝙀𝘿 𝙍𝙤𝙤𝙢, reaffirming the school's commitment to providing an inclusive and learner-centered environment.

As part of the continuing efforts to ensure a safe and conducive learning space, 𝙉𝙚𝙜𝙧𝙤𝙨 𝙋𝙤𝙬𝙚𝙧 conducted an inspection of the school's electrical facilities, particularly the transformers, to help prevent electrical hazards and power interruptions. In addition, trash bins were donated by the 𝙔𝙪𝙨𝙖𝙮 𝙁𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙙𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 in collaboration with the 𝙋𝙝𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙥𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙚 𝘼𝙞𝙧 𝙁𝙤𝙧𝙘𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝 𝘼𝙁𝙋 𝙎𝙚𝙧𝙜𝙚𝙖𝙣𝙩 𝙎𝙚𝙧𝙫𝙖𝙨, further supporting the school's cleanliness and waste management initiatives.

The program also included a 𝙋𝙖𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙊𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 on school rules, regulations, and policies, strengthening the partnership between the school and families in promoting discipline, responsibility, and academic success among learners.

Rodolfo A. Medel Sr. Elementary School successfully concluded its 2026 ARAL Summer Program with a meaningful Closing Program held at the School Gymnasium. Anchored on the theme, “𝙏𝙤𝙜𝙚𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧, 𝙬𝙚 𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙣. 𝙏𝙤𝙜𝙚𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧, 𝙬𝙚 𝙜𝙧𝙤𝙬,” the event celebrated the learners' dedication, perseverance, and academic progress throughout the summer break.

The program commenced with a Nationalistic Song and an opening prayer led by Mr. Francis A. Gonzales, followed by an attendance check facilitated by Mrs. Ruby Coruna. SGC Chairperson Mrs. Melanie P. Hilado delivered an inspiring message emphasizing the vital role of community support in strengthening foundational learning.

One of the highlights of the celebration was the awarding of certificates to the ARAL learners, led by Mrs. Melanie P. Hilado, Mrs. Manylyn M. Jeducos, and Mr. Noel T. Salmayor. The program also featured a heartfelt message of gratitude from an ARAL learner, followed by a community song rendered by all participants.

The activity concluded with closing remarks from ARAL Mathematics Coordinator Mr. Noel T. Salmayor and was skillfully hosted by Mrs. Ma. Analyn C. Bergantin.

The school extends its sincere appreciation to all learners, parents, ARAL Coordinators, and dedicated ARAL Tutors for their unwavering commitment and support throughout the program.

𝙀𝙡𝙚𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙖𝙧𝙮 𝙎𝙘𝙝𝙤𝙤𝙡 as parents, learners, teachers, and community stakeholders came together in support of a common goal—preparing the school for a productive and meaningful academic year.

The activity commenced with a caravan followed by a kick-off program that highlighted the importance of collective action in creating a safe, clean, and conducive learning environment for every learner. The program featured a welcome message from Head Teacher III, 𝙈𝙖’𝙖𝙢 𝙈𝙖𝙧𝙮 𝘼𝙣𝙣 𝙃𝙚𝙧𝙖𝙙𝙪𝙧𝙖, an opening message from 𝙎𝙞𝙧 𝙅𝙪𝙣𝙞𝙡𝙤 𝘼𝙡𝙛𝙤𝙣𝙨𝙤, the presentation of the statement of purpose, an orientation for parents, messages of support from stakeholders, and the turnover of donations for Brigada Eskwela.

One of the most meaningful parts of the event was the signing of the 𝘾𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙞𝙩𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙒𝙖𝙡𝙡, where school personnel, parents, and community members expressed their dedication to supporting the school's programs and initiatives. To further promote camaraderie and enthusiasm, participants also joined a lively Zumba session that energized everyone for the day’s activities.
