B-UPDATE | Pag-ulikid: SBA Alumni Homecoming
(Part 2)
In celebration of the 45th anniversary of Central Philippine Adventist College, alumni from different parts of the world crossed miles of land and sea to show their support for this joyous occasion. On August 10, 2026, graduates of the School of Business and Accountancy (SBA), along with current and former faculty members and students, gathered as one family to commemorate God’s goodness over the years and reminisce about their shared memories.
The gathering, held at the fast-food center, began with a devotional, where attendees were uplifted by songs rendered by the B-Echoes and encouraged by a message shared by Pastor Delbert Gentapanan.
The second part of the program began with the roll call of alumni by decade, led by Mrs. Pearl Rhelmae Arevalo, Program Head for the Bachelor of Science in Accountancy. This was followed by the presentation of the School of Business and Accountancy’s updates, achievements, and proposed projects by the dean, Dr. Christy Doroy.
Two major projects were presented. The first was the proposed purchase of 15 desktop computers, estimated to cost ₱20,000 - ₱25,000 each, for a total estimated cost of ₱300,000 - ₱375,000. The second was the proposed construction of a faculty comfort room, with an estimated cost of ₱100,000 - ₱150,000. During the presentation, monetary pledges were made in support of the department’s proposed improvements. These pledges marked a promising start, and the department hopes to raise sufficient funds to support these projects before the end of the year.
To officially organize the main chapter of the SBA Alumni Association, an election of officers was conducted. The elected officers were Dr. Joash Macalipay as president, Mrs. Windy Nuñez as secretary, Mrs. Cherrylyn Tandog as treasurer, and Ms. Myles Kimberly Gicalde as Public Information Officer (PIO).
The fun continued with games, as alumni from different generations went head-to-head in activities prepared by the SBA faculty. Afterward, everyone enjoyed an early evening meal and fellowship.
The event concluded with closing remarks from former dean Dr. Rechielyn Araneta, who emphasized that although she is no longer part of the department, she continues to extend her best hopes and support to SBA.
The SBA Alumni Homecoming was more than a gathering—it was a celebration of memories, friendships, accomplishments, and God’s faithfulness throughout the years. It served as a reminder that wherever life may lead, the bonds formed within the SBA family remain.
