CSU hones these passions for film, writing, journalism, theatre, production, and many more fields within communication, then turns them into sparks through new opportunities and experiences. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀. 𝗦𝗼 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲.

Fifty-four years later, the stories of Martial Law continue to remind us of the cost of silence and the importance of standing against oppression. Remembering is more than looking back—it is recognizing the struggles, honoring those who endured, and carrying their stories forward.

Through the power of communication and collective expression, the Communication Society - USLS brings history to life through ML54: “Sa Imo Pagmitlang, Nasugid ang Nagligad.” Flash Mob.

May this remind us that voices hold power, stories deserve to be heard, and history must never be erased.

𝗧𝗢 𝗥𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗠𝗕𝗘𝗥 𝗜𝗦 𝗧𝗢 𝗚𝗜𝗩𝗘 𝗛𝗜𝗦𝗧𝗢𝗥𝗬 𝗔 𝙑𝙊𝙄𝘾𝙀

The 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗨𝗦𝗟𝗦 joined the Opening Salvo of the 𝟓𝟒𝘁𝗵 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗟𝗮𝘄 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, featuring a discussion by Ms. Veronica Jireh De Asis of the Faculty of the Political Science Department, who shared the findings of her research and highlighted the importance of preserving stories beyond official historical records. Afterwards was a personal sharing from Ms. Julie Dojillo of Balayan, recounting her life during Martial Law, giving voice to the realities and memories of those who lived through the period.

As a nation, we must continue meaningful conversations about Martial Law and ensure that calls for truth, accountability, and justice remain part of our collective memory. By refusing to forget and by listening to the voices of those who lived through history, we help build a society that works to ensure that the 𝘭𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘰𝘯𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘢𝘴𝘵 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘯𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘭𝘰𝘴𝘵.

A childhood classic song we all grew up with was a form of protest 🪁

When Celeste Legaspi produced "Saranggola ni Pepe", she showed us a way to surpass political censorship and condemn leaders who are deaf to the nation's suffering.

Today, we pay tribute to the Filipino people who lost their lives to state-sanctioned massacres, abduction, and torture. With more than 70,000 arrested, 34,000 tortured, and 3,240 killed under the regime of Dictator Ferdinand Marcos.

Just as Celeste Legaspi used her song to call out injustices, 𝘸𝘦 𝘵𝘰𝘰 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘴𝘦𝘵 𝘢𝘴𝘪𝘥𝘦 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘯𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘭𝘦𝘵 𝘱𝘳𝘪𝘷𝘪𝘭𝘦𝘨𝘦 𝘣𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘥 𝘶𝘴 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺.

𝙔𝙤𝙪 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙨𝙤 𝗠𝗔𝗚𝗡𝗢𝙛𝙞𝙘𝙚𝙣𝙩!

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗨𝗦𝗟𝗦 𝗳𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝘆 𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝘄𝗶𝗺𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗮𝗹, 𝗝𝗼𝘀𝗵 𝗞𝗹𝗲𝗻𝘁.

Not only does he manage to glide in the depths of filmmaking, photography, journalism, and alike, but sweeps even in the 𝗔𝘀𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗻 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹𝘀 𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝘄𝗶𝗺𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽𝘀 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 last August 29 to 30 in the Assumption University Aquatic Center Suvarnabhumi Campus at Bangkok, Thailand.

𝗝𝗼𝘀𝗵 𝗞𝗹𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗥𝗲𝘅𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝗠𝗮𝗴𝗻𝗼, a 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗿𝗱-𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗟𝗮 𝗦𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 student, bagged a 𝙨𝙞𝙡𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝙢𝙚𝙙𝙖𝙡 in the 25M Breaststroke and 𝙗𝙧𝙤𝙣𝙯𝙚 𝙢𝙚𝙙𝙖𝙡𝙨 in the 25M Freestyle, 50M Breaststroke, 100M Breaststroke, 25M Backstroke, and 50M Backstroke.

This feat of Josh is a reminder that La Salle Comm can be as skilled and talented beyond just one field. And we are immensely proud of his achievements and contribution to the many emerging successes in our family.
