𝗜𝗟𝗢𝗜𝗟𝗢 𝗖𝗜𝗧𝗬, 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 — Demonstrating a fusion of technical prowess and social responsibility, the 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝘁. 𝗟𝗮 𝗦𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲 (𝗨𝗦𝗟𝗦) made a resounding mark at the 𝗠𝗘𝗧-𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗩𝗜, held on February 28, 2026, at the SSB Hall, Iloilo Science and Technology University (ISAT U).

Represented by the bright minds of the 𝗟𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗼 𝗱𝗲 𝗟𝗮 𝗦𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗿 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗠 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱, USLS fielded two powerhouse teams that showcased high-tech, Arduino-based solutions to real-world environmental and safety challenges. The prestigious event was organized by the P𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗠𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗼𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗜𝗹𝗼𝗶𝗹𝗼 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 (𝗜𝗦𝗔𝗧 𝗨), in partnership with 𝗗𝗢𝗦𝗧-𝗣𝗔𝗚𝗔𝗦𝗔, 𝗗𝗢𝗦𝗧-𝗦𝗘𝗜, and 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗘𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝟲.

𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲
Aligned with the competition’s focus on Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) and Climate Change Adaptation, the Liceo presenters unveiled two sophisticated IoT (Internet of Things) prototypes. Both teams were under the expert guidance of 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗿 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗮 𝗔𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗹𝗮 𝗟𝗲𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗿 and were accompanied to the competition by 𝗟𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗼 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗮 𝗣𝘂𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗮.

𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁: This project addresses the perennial threat of river flooding in the province, providing real-time data to help communities evacuate safely before waters reach critical levels.

𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁: A proactive approach to fire safety, this system not only detects threats but initiates suppression while simultaneously alerting homeowners via mobile notifications.

𝗔 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗦𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀
The successful participation of these teams highlights the robust support system within the Lasallian community. This achievement is a testament to the rigorous training provided by the 𝗟𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗼 𝗔𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗰𝘀 𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗠 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱, alongside the essential guidance and logistical support from the 𝗕𝗘𝗨 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲 and the 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲.

During the 15-minute presentations and rigorous 10-minute Q&A sessions, the students impressed the panel of experts with their technical depth, clear methodology, and the operational viability of their working prototypes.
