The session provided valuable information about the DOST scholarship programs, application process, and insights shared by current DOST scholars, guiding students in preparing for their journey toward becoming future scholars.

In accordance with Office of the President Memorandum Circular No. 114 dated March 6, 2026, the DOST Negros Island Region and DOST Negros Occidental will adopt a temporary four-day work week schedule starting March 9, 2026. The office will be open to serve the public from Monday to Thursday, 7:00am to 7:00pm.

Last February 12, 2026, fellow DOST scholars under BSED Mathematics—John Gratian Magbanua and Vhilma Raye Gran—participated under the 1st Invitational Quiz Bee, hosted by the BCC College of Education.

They championed through fellow students under the BSED Mathematics program from various universities, winning the championship title with the guidance of their coach, Mr. Mark Xavier Guanzon. 🏆

USLS Math Majors Clinch Championship at 1st Invitational Quiz Bee 🏆🥇✨️

The University of St. La Salle (USLS) dominated the 1st Invitational Quiz Bee for BSED Mathematics, clinching the championship title last February 12, 2026, at Bacolod City College (BCC).

The competition, held in observance of Math Day during the Student Association for Teachers’ Education (SATE) Week, gathered five teams from various Teacher Education Institutions across the province.

The USLS BEMA students—JV Occeno, John Gratian Magbanua, and Vhilma Raye Gran—demonstrated academic precision under the guidance of their coach, Mr. Mark Xavier Guanzon. The team maintained a consistent lead through the final rounds to secure the top spot.

Hosted by the BCC College of Education, the event was designed to foster academic rigor and camaraderie among future mathematics educators in Negros Occidental. This victory highlights the continued excellence of the USLS College of Education in preparing top-tier mentors.

The pursuit of excellence continues aspiring DOST-SEI Undergraduate scholars gathered at 𝘾𝙖𝙧𝙡𝙤𝙨 𝙃𝙞𝙡𝙖𝙙𝙤 𝙈𝙚𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙞𝙖𝙡 𝙎𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙐𝙣𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙞𝙩𝙮, with the support of USLS - Association of DOST Scholars volunteers at both venues, united by shared goal and dreams of becoming future leaders in science and technology.

Aspiring DOST-SEI Undergraduate Scholars took the 𝗨𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗱𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗮𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗘𝘅𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 at 𝘾𝙖𝙧𝙡𝙤𝙨 𝙃𝙞𝙡𝙖𝙙𝙤 𝙈𝙚𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙞𝙖𝙡 𝙎𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙐𝙣𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙞𝙩𝙮 and 𝙏𝙚𝙘𝙝𝙣𝙤𝙡𝙤𝙜𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙡 𝙐𝙣𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙋𝙝𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙥𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙨 - 𝙑𝙞𝙨𝙖𝙮𝙖𝙨—carrying with them their knowledge, dedicated heart, and burning passion to serve and excel as future scholars of the Department of Science and Technology.

On the first day, courage met opportunity. Dreams stepped forward with faith, determination, and purpose.
