Congratulations to the SELG, YES-O, BKD, and, CSE Officers for being the FINALIST in the Most Outstanding Supreme Elementary Learner Government (Medium School Category)! Your dedication, leadership, and teamwork have truly set you part.

Mary Joyce Ann D. Gañalon, the SELG President, Al Jiro Niven P. Mengaracal, the SELG Vice- President, Mr. Aladin R. Almirol, the SELG Adviser, and Mrs. Gemma Bassig- Arriesgado, our school principal, proudly received the award during the LUSD Pammadayaw 2026 on March 24, held at Paradiso Beach Resort, Samara, Aringay, La Union.

We are deeply grateful to LUSD for once again giving us the honor and opportunity to be part of this prestigious event. Our heartfelt thanks to Sir Edelito Chan and Ma'am Mary Vanice Tolentino.

It was no ordinary Saturday for our learners of Sta. Cruz Elementary School, as it was an extra ordinary day filled with excitement, learning, and experiences that will be remembered for a long time, as they were one selected schools that will be part of the Nippers Program: Basic Water Rescue and Safety Training.

With eager hearts and curious minds, they stepped into a day that taught them not only skills but also the value of preparedness and helping others in times of trouble or emergency.

This great learning experience would not have been made possible without the guidance of Mayor Divine C. Fontanilla and Vice Mayor Francis L. Fontanilla for this great opportunity that allow our learners to learn more about water rescue and safety. We would also like to extend our deepest gratitude to Mr. Romel Montipalco, Head of Bacnotan MDRRMC for inviting the school to this great learning experience.

Our deepest appreciation also goes to the dedicated trainers, who patiently guided the learners through the basic rescue procedures. Their expertise and encouragement helped them gain confidence and valuable knowledge.

Indeed, it was a Saturday filled with learning and courage, and gratitude- an experience that inspired them to become more responsible, safety conscious, and ready to help others when it matters most.
