A Voice That Soars: IHS Singer Clinches Gold at BACS Cluster 5 Meet 2026
TAGBILARAN CITY, BOHOL β A powerful voice, unwavering confidence, and months of preparation came together as Immaculata High School (IHS) of Baclayon celebrated a remarkable musical victory at the Bohol Association of Catholic Schools (BACS) Cluster 5 Meet 2026, held yesterday at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Seminary (IHMS) in Taloto District, Tagbilaran City.
The Cluster Meet brought together four Catholic schools under Cluster 5 of the Diocese of Tagbilaran: Holy Trinity Academy of Loay, San Agustin Academy of Panglao, Immaculate Heart of Mary Seminary of Tagbilaran, and Immaculata High School of Baclayon.
The Cluster Meet, organized by the BACS Central Office, is designed to reflect the district-level competitions held by the Department of Education (DepEd). This event provides student-athletes and performers with an opportunity to showcase their talents and secure a position in the upcoming BACS Meet 2026, scheduled for September in Jagna, Bohol.
A Golden Voice for IHS
Among the musical competitions, IHS made its mark as Sandy Lyn Cajilog emerged as the Vocal Solo Champion, earning the school a desired gold-medal finish.
A member and pianist of the IHS Performing Arts group, Bella Voce Choir, Cajilog delivered a performance that impressed the panel of judges and stood out amid a field of exceptionally talented contestants.
Her victory was no easy feat. With every contestant demonstrating remarkable vocal ability and stage presence, the competition proved challenging for the judges.
The panel was composed of Mrs. Cora Tumanda Uy, School Principal of SAA-Carmen; Mr. NiΓ±o Rey Gastones, School Principal of SVI-Maribojoc; and Mrs. Zoe T. Chiu, School Principal of IKA-Cortes.
Cajilog's triumph not only brought pride to IHS but also highlighted the growing talents of young Immaculadians in the performing arts.
Another Podium Finish
IHS also secured another podium spot in the Vocal Duet competition, with Blaisel Claire Pendoy and her partner, Sandy Lyn Cajilog, earning 3rd Place.
The achievement added another layer of pride to IHS's participation, demonstrating that the school's commitment to developing student talent extends beyond academics and into music and the performing arts.
The IHS vocalists were mentored and coached by Mr. Jerson Jabines, whose guidance and preparation helped the contestants step onto the stage with confidence.
Eyes on Jagna
Beyond medals and rankings, the BACS Cluster Meet served as a celebration of talent, discipline, camaraderie, and the Catholic schools' shared commitment to excellence.
For IHS, Sandy Lyn Cajilog's championship victory is more than a title; it is a reminder that dedication, courage, and passion can turn a young performer's voice into an instrument of inspiration.
